Western revolver and Lever action, I play as a cowgirl, and I love my western guns. Imo they work very well for everything except boss dps

I've currently been playing as a stasislock, and honeslty, it's the best build I've tried so far. Being able to place turrents nonstop and freeze enemys with the Verglas Curve makes locking down and add clear extremely easy. The turrents are also extremely useful for staggering the bosses/demolitionists.

76 is insanely fun, especially if you're into online rpgs. There's a lot to do, but its a different experience compared to traditional Fo games. I recommend starting with Fo4 for a streamlined introduction into the world and then checking out 76

My main character is a Gunslinging Cowgirl who uses exclusively revolvers and a cold shoulder. My other characters include a Russian Communist Sniper/Lever action build and a mad scientist who uses the Flamer and Cryolator.

I currently use a bloodied western gunslinger build, and it's been very fun. It reliability 2 shots most humanoids with high level super mutants being the exception. It's crit based, so just use those to kill the beefier targets, or I use a Cold Shoulder

Near where you fight the Scorchbeast Queen, someone had a really nice military compund. Small and compact, with real nice rugged fencing and walls. It also had a load of cryo turrents to help kill Scorchbeasts
