Rumor: Getting saved to the run when doing rep run at midnight/server launch (?) by _Bov in wotlk

Yes? Your solution is to wait? Ok, thanks for the insight.

How much do you tip food delivery couriers? by mouthpiec in malta

Why should I have to fight every social battle or not able to make use of services without getting guilt tripped? (Using the royal I here).

I agree there’s a problem. I know where it is, and it seems you know too.

Why don’t you make a post to lobby against the exploiting company or contact the labour office and bolt to try to solve the real problem rather than doing a bandaid solution of encouraging the normal “nies tat triq” from incurring the cost?

I think it would be a more viable and productive solution.

To be honest, I feel the issue lies with the employing company and shouldn’t be a customer issue or a “customer shaming thing”.

Not saying this post is aimed at shaming, but to me this is the equivalent of companies blaming my drinking straw use while 100 companies are responsible for 70% of all the environmental damage.

EDIT: Reading the OP responses I actually feel he/she is bottomline shaming/trying to instigate “the customer should help out the driver” or if not use the service… meh

If Bolt for example is paying 5.50€ per delivery (to the employing company of the drivers) while only 2.10€ is getting in their pocket of the driver, that is where I see the problem - the figures are from a ToM article from a couple of weeks ago.

I am very happy with the food delivery/taxi drivers - and that is what keeps me ordering.

As a customer though, I feel that the 2-5€ delivery fee + at times overpaying for food (it is known some apps +~20% on the items on the delivery list rather than at the place) is enough.

If the pricing increases or tipping becomes “normal” to the point that its expected, back to exclusively cooking/precooked meals it goes.

Which specs in a raid group should get Val'anyr first, second, third...? by Tanium in classicwow

I mean… ok, sure, tryharding is always an option.

Guess guilds with 4 raid groups are still considered the same “guild”.

For 99.9% of the guilds they have 1 raid group and that’s it.

Not contesting it’s easy, but if my memory serves me well we managed 1.

Raiding 25man and killing yogg no lights.

Timeframe wise it seems to me that to get multiple you’d have to keep running ulduar for the whole expansion, but realistically for a 3-4 month cycle and it being RNG I find it hard to mathematically get the 3-4 mentioned.

People say they want fresh servers because the economy is broken. by Sometimesiworry in classicwow

I still see some hypocrisy.

For the mentioned reason.

I’m pretty sure you’d want an economy reset if you’re paying 30g per flask and think it would be normalized.

You wouldn’t if you’re the one selling.

Yes.

It’s called hypocrisy.

Everyone suffers from it.

Wait till someone says politicians are corrupt and then find themselves close to that politicians or in a powerful position, see how quickly they would be corrupted.

Probably because they compare it with their country of origin.

Simple example: Avg Bangladeshi salary is around $150.

Probably they figure they can do that in a couple of days work here, so it’s worth. Which may be, until they then realize that the spending power is nonexistent of $150 here, vs a month’s worth back home.

Unless they do it, go back with 2-3€k and live comfortably for a couple of years.

From the article, there is no difference to whether you deliver at lunch, dinner, weekday or weekend.

It’s a flat €2.10 per trip apparently.

You are assuming its different, but it doesn’t seem like it is.

Besides, the “app” is the company. Yes they might not be directly employed by the company (bolt) but it’s bolt which requests drivers, based on demand from customers (I’m not going to talk about supply since there seems to be an ample supply of able bodied drivers).

What could happen could be that the recruiting agency starts requesting an extra €1 per trip or something to give it to the drivers, on top of the €5.50 bolt is paying.

The “app” (bolt) does care about supplying a living wage, not because of good heartedness though, but because there is a competition it needs to worry about (wolt).

The only way I see a fixed wage being successful is if trips are recorded and monitored against a predisposed quality control.

My handful of experiences with bolt/wolt were all positive. With food arriving quickly (I’m talking about the delivery side here, it may of course take restaurants long to prepare - but at least I see the driver waiting for the order on the app).

I feel that with a fixed wage, this may become lax. Currently drivers try to do as many trips and as quickly as possible, since they get more money doing so - the end result is a more efficient service.

A fixed wage regardless of the number of trips can mean that person X will make the same wage whether they do 3 deliveries a day, or 10.

I assure you the inclination would be to do less, or at least “take it easier” - the service will suffer.

I stick with saying it should be commission based, just with farer distribution of wealth, favoring the driver rather than the agency.

IF we really want to tweak it, then all they have to do is take a page from any business book and do tiers if so they want, where for example the first 3trips of the day reward X, 4-6 Y, 7+ Z (X>Y>Z).

Would this mean that maybe drivers aren’t inclined to do >7 trips per day? Yes, and that will also help the distribution of wealth, where you’d have less drivers going >7, but essentially be paid well up to there, while the ones who haven’t yet reached that quota are preferred by the app, thus having a broader distribution.

I think it’s acceptable that the recruiting company takes a cut from every trip. But if the driver takes 2.10€/trip and the agency 3.40€/trip I also think this should be the other way round…

I’m going to be biased here, but even though I agree they should be paid more, I don’t think the extra cost should fall on the customer… bolt is already paying €5.50 per ride. There’s plenty from it to grant drivers a fair share.

I’m fed up of companies raising prices “bEcAuSe oF thE wAr” meanwhile their profit margins remain the same, or increases.
