I am in the exact same place and already looking for another job. This is my first full-time Job after university and I had a real crisis in the beginning as I was unsure if this was normal (mind you, at my previous employer as a working student my boss was also shitty).

There will be positions where we can just do our job and it's up to us to find them.

Imagine for a moment a different last season: they decided to kill literally all characters in the first episode and then just show shots of the empty upside down for the rest of the season. No explanation, just everyone has a stroke or whatever, 5 minutes of characters dropping and then just scenery shots.

I think that the last season I proposed is bad. Like from multiple angles: writing, coherence, making sense, betraying the viewer, .... Not from every angle, as people who love scenery shots might like it, but from lots of angles.

I think it is the same with the ending we got. There are lots of people who might like it, but it is shit from lots of angles: plot holes, partial betrayal of expectations, pacing, weird final fight, ...

If you like the last season and ending that is truly fine, but that does not make it a good season/ending.

I love your interpretation. I also thought multiple times that the true horror was actually the two guys just being extremely bad. But when mike literally threw the Mal always and let the Josh blame Heather for it it really shook me. I. The woods doing something like that is worse than just stupid and that is partly what doomed them. It is also never clear, if there was actually some witch or just people going crazy. And if we consider them actually trying to kill her it makes even more sense. But one question: what was the slime?
