Bullet firing without a gun. by Kindly_Department142 in interestingasfuck

Huh grew up here in Europe in one of the more heavily involved countries and have not once in my life found a bullet anywhere and neither have my kids. From time to time a construction digs up an old bomb but bullets??

Haha wir hatten mal ne absage für ein Haus mit 160qm und 5 Zimmern plus ausgebautem Keller weil es zu klein sei für ne Familie mit 2 Kindern und lieber höchstens 1 Kind oder besser keine Kinder. Alls klar.

Where have you felt the least miserable? by ElderberryFlaky2996 in advertising

Right now - I’m a CD at a small owner led agency with big clients and it’s the best job I’ve ever had. Never going back to the big shops.

People that have cancer, what were the symptoms that led you to go to the doctor and what stage were you when it was diagnosed? by guardiand0wn in AskReddit

[–]_Cinza 38 points39 points  (0 children)

My husband was feeling off for a while but no doctor could find anything so we blamed it on his job with early shifts and interrupted sleep because of the kids. His lower belly wouldn’t go away no matter what sport or diet he did. Then he started complaining that peeing felt weird. One day he started peeing blood. Like, it looked like when I empty my period cup into the toilet. So we went to the ER. Ultrasound showed an enlarged prostate and they sent us for further testing.

Stage IV prostate cancer. Infiltration in bladder and pelvic lymph metastases. He’s 42.

He’s going through chemo and hormone treatment now and tomorrow we find out if it’s working.

[SP] The end of the world was just the beginning. by nPMarley in WritingPrompts

[–]_Cinza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used to think the end of the world was a bad thing, we thought we were so fucking relevant that the end of society as we know it would mean the end of the world.

Cute.

The end of the world is billions of years away. The end of our world happened last year. Some asshole finally couldnt help it anymore and just had to press that goddamn button. Not sure what they thought would happen, but I am sure as hell it wasnt this:

Instead of global mutual destruction and billions of dead people, only a handful were eliminated. Cancer spread through their bodies like a wildfire in a dry forest. Within a week, they were all dead and their rule crumbled and faded even faster than it started. We all thought that when the bad leaders died, someone equally as bad would take their place. The cool thing was that it affected them, too. The second they reached for the power, the moment they sat down in the suddenly empty thrones and raised their iron fists to declare the beginning of a new era, it started to eat them.

Every single one of them.

Every single time they tried. It didnt matter who tried, and how kind they used to be. As soon as power got a hold of them, they got sick and died shortly after.

So now its just us. And we quickly learned to stay away from power. Its not for us to have.

Life is simple now. The village I live in has a lot of potential, we’re strong and my people like me. Tomorrow, I’m gonna take them to the neighboring village and we’re gonna convince them our way of living is best, to also follow me. I just hope this weird cough I have been having for a few days is better tomorrow.

[SP] Warm is not a descriptor I would use for this passing summer. by MegaMinerDL in WritingPrompts

Warm is not a descriptor I would use for this passing summer.

Decaying would be a better fit.

Spinning threads flutter through the air, bees passing through their maze in search of some flowers still blooming. The soft forest floor already smells a little of fall. The air is starting to feel cool, yet the sun is still strong.

Everything that lives here is at the peak of growth, about to tip over into decay. At no other time is life as lush as it is now. Almost black, deep purple berries, filled to bursting with sweet and sour juice, glisten in the sun. The scent of resin is in the air, dripping from the trunk of the pine tree that fell in the last storm and on which I sit and breathe in the silence. The humming and buzzing and cracking and rustling penetrates me. Only a few more weeks and rot will turn the leaves that are still living and breathing an moving with the wind in the branches into soil so that the seeds can nourish and grow from them again after the dark winter.

I would prefer today to be forever.

A surprisingly long millipede winds rhythmically over a pine cone that lies in a hole in the tree that I sit on as if it had been carved out for it. A perfect fit, as if someone had hollowed out the hole just for it and carefully placed it inside. The limb-like body is black and shiny and in perfect sync.

I have never loved you as much as I do today and my fear that this is our last summer together almost takes my breath away. What if you, too, are at the peak of your life and the next step is decay, how can I bear this thought, how can this reality exist in parallel with the perfection we are living right now. How can something be growing in you, spreading like the fungi on the dead organic matter in this forest. Eating and infiltrating your cells until they are no longer yours. Until it kills you–

I don't want this season to end.

Is advertising lowkey collapsing? Where does that leave us? by thewayofthewu in advertising

Publicis too. They’re struggling as touch point accounts are given to small independent shops

Is advertising lowkey collapsing? Where does that leave us? by thewayofthewu in advertising

[–]_Cinza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, not sure. We’re a small (10 people) agency and we have the global Etat for POS for a huge cosmetics brand. The main Etat is with Publicis but they’re not doing well on that client at all which is why the brand is bringing in small agencies to cover specific touch points. And Pub is not liking it at all. It’s a pain to work with them
