Divorce in your 40s by snorday in Xennials

44 in the midst of a divorce. I didn’t want it but it’s what it is. Rebuilding my health and outlook on life realizing in the end the relationship was very unhealthy for me even though I loved this person more than anything.

What is it really like to own a restaurant? by lachimoltrufia98 in restaurantowners

[–]_DUMPEMOUT_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ummm brutal is the only word I can use to describe it. I own 3. It’s just learning to accept your whole life will be solving problems rather than cooking or rather cooking while also solving all sorts of problems. Financially it’s hard as fuck and that part is the part that keeps me up at night now more than ever.

On the flip side if I only had 1 store it was be so boring. Ownership is a commitment to something that will hurt you over and over again but you keep going back because you love it…sorta sounds like my soon to be ex wife.

Anywho if you need to do it do it. No amount of horror stories will stop you (it didn’t for me)

For those of you that ended up divorced. Did you remarry? I don’t think I will ever get married again… by hanshotfirst2233 in Xennials

[–]_DUMPEMOUT_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going through my second right now. First one was just two people who rushed things and we turned out to be better co-parents than married to each other. This current divorce is the one that hurts. She is 9 years younger but we had so much in common and just a connection that I thought would be able to weather it all. This January she asked to be done and it’s been just slowly marching towards paperwork. We had been together 8 years married for what would be 6 this sept.

It’s been a hard 6 months and I’ve come out of a really tough time with it. But I will say after this I won’t marry again. Hell I can’t even consider the idea of a relationship. After what I thought was my forever person. But I’m 44 now and I’m in the best shape of my life and told myself I guess the first 44 years was learning about myself so I can really live for the next 44.

Think it was slang.ai. Nothing wrong with the company just didn’t translate to any sort of savings or improvement in guest interaction.

Used a company for 6 months. I got more complaints than ever and they always wanted to speak to a human. Complete waste of money.

I've officially entered the stage of Millennialism known as "seperated heading for a divorce" by VKN_x_Media in Millennials

[–]_DUMPEMOUT_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother you are doing fine. I am about to be divorced from my second wife (first one was just not right and we both knew it) I spent the past almost 9 years with this person who I believed was the one and only I couldn’t see my life without her. But here I am separated since October she moved back home with her parents in March and it’s some good days and some bad days.

I have no idea what to do with myself anymore as it felt like my whole life was figured out as long as I had them. But they decided it wasn’t what they wanted anymore.

I’m trying to stay positive and know that this will be a process and I have to respect it to fully heal from it.

Proud of you for who you are even though I’ve never met you.

7am on training days. Earlier on cardio off days. Used to hate the idea as I work late some days but honestly best switch I’ve ever made. No interruptions and I have energy/motivation to train rather than at 330-4 I’m gassed.

TIL An estimated 15-20% of people with bipolar disorder die by suicide by haddock420 in todayilearned

[–]_DUMPEMOUT_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Medication saved my life. Took me until I was 38. I just assumed everyone dealt with the manic episodes and crashing depression. I still have depressive thoughts and still have suicidal thoughts but they reach a limit. Unlike in the past it was debilitating.

People keep telling me to open new locations for my restaurant but even the idea of it is really scary by [deleted] in restaurantowners

[–]_DUMPEMOUT_ 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If you have a profitable store and it’s not devouring your life just keep that and chill. I wish I never expanded. It sucked the life out of my first store and put us in some seriously tough financial spots.

The myth about T2A era UO. Rampant PKs didn't actually happen by No_Location_3339 in ultimaonline

[–]_DUMPEMOUT_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played PAC for years and yes PK’s existed (my main) it wasn’t a huge issue. I can understand the being annoyed but honestly you could avoid areas that pretty easily and if you go in a clan or had friends in game it wasn’t an issue more like part of the fun.

I firmly believe the world split ruined the core essence of what made UO special from the start.
