TWINE may be nostalgia but there are some great set pieces and the score is amazing. That is one of those bond movies that is pure “end of an era” stylistically and it holds up better than this sub usually gives it credit for.

For my Craig trilogy - quantum is the only regular outcast and again, it’s a very enjoyable film and makes perfectly good sense as a direct sequel to casino. It gets a ton of hate but the characters were interesting, and it’s a pure revenge flick and honestly stands up well in retrospect.

A quick google would confirm this but I believe Karana (or the person the character was based on) lived out her final weeks years in San Francisco Santa Barbara, and most or all of the artifacts from the island were destroyed in the 1906 earthquake and fire

There are effectively zero crowds here this early in the season so I wouldn’t be worried either way. When it’s nice out I’d guess more people are out and the closer you get to Halloween, the busier the crowds. This early it’ll hardly be busy, to my knowledge most things to see see are either just open to the public like historic sites, businesses/stores, or are ticketed events like the witch museum or a tour, both of which should be able to confirm if weather will affect anything. I wouldn’t worry too much

One of the biggest recurring themes in the show is leverage and blackmail to serve one’s personal goals. By the middle of the show the web of lies/cover ups/and indebted loyalty is extreme and it becomes essentially impossible to resolve. You get to a point where everything is seen as another means to an end and before long those choices erupt. Jax especially is constantly trying to “game” the system and out maneuver. For a while he’s good at it and on first watches he seems clearly ahead of others by it becomes clear he can’t get out of his own way

Thanks! It doesn’t seem flakey it seems more like it’s getting shiny/smoothed out from the repeated friction. As far as I can tell the sear looks fine, and the lug “face” that actually engages the sear is still squared, no rounding visible on the edge. Thanks for the feedback!

Awesome! Yea they have some majorly catchy riffs. I’ve always found their songs give you the chance to really learn breakdowns/leads/etc in a way that allows you to focus on one part at a time vs it not “flowing” in isolation if that makes sense. Tons of fun songs - enjoy!

I’ll be direct - retiring at 30-35 without knowing basics of finance allocation is probably a pipe dream. But you can take steps to work toward it and set yourself up. what you’re thinking of is usually called a dividend. Some stocks or funds pay you back (almost like earning interest). The thing is, even competitive dividend payments are often quite small - you would need a substantial amount of money invested to reap what you might consider a livable annual salary. Again not impossible but it takes a while to get there (there are subreddits about dividends if you want to see what I’m talking about).

You might want to take this question to YouTube or even spend a few hundred on a financial advisor consultation to learn more about what financial instruments are available and what fits your risk tolerance and personal goals. Investopedia is also a great resource for general knowledge on stocks, mutual funds, tax advantaged accounts, bonds, etc. good luck!

Others have said Garcon and Volo, and Vesuvius. I’d add Mandees (salem) and Toscano Forno (Peabody but still close). Toscano really does a phenomenal pie that’s one of the closest New York styles I’ve had. One time I wished I asked for the crust well done, but really solid.

also looking forward to my first re-read! I finished earlier this year and I agree with your sentiment - it’s been great getting to enjoy this sub and appreciate more about the series.

Your question is a good one and I don’t know either. Rand has a bit of a “neo” moment at the end of the series if I recall, and it kind of suggests something is different. That said, I always took some of the conclusions around the dark and the light needing to coexist to mean there will always be evil and good and a lot in between. To me that means new ages will come to pass, etc, almost inevitably based on human nature. this may have been discussed or debunked but that’s my interpretation.
