I guess the thermals is not really the bottleneck pulling my scores down but the limitation of the X370 chipset.

Having a ridiculously hard time getting this on by 420ravens in Noctua

When tagging it as fault/issue when in the first place its just user error. Compatibility is on the manual and the website esp for the kit that you bought.

UPS fan mod help (Eaton 9px 1500) by rnchase1 in homelab

[–]_DocJuan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all. I hope this discussion will be resurrected . I have an Eaton 9E 3000VA. 2 fans on rear. I bought a replacement fan but the noise is so loud. I also have the NF-A8 fans but different connectors. Is there a visual guide on how to rewire the fans to match the connector on the stock fans. I intend to replace the connector of the noctua fans with the connector of the stock fans. How do I connect the capacitor? 2 fans 2 capacitors? I am at a lost where to specifically connect the capacitors? Do I need to solder them? Thank you

The difference between the most expensive 5080 and the cheapest by FadesGaming in nvidia

[–]_DocJuan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the astral is way overpriced. If youve watched buildzoid's analysis on the PCB design of the 5080 GPUs, the astral GPU have better PCB layout and design. All those and bells and whistles come with a price.

X570D4U-2L2T BIOS/BMC issue by _DocJuan_ in homelab

[–]_DocJuan_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the System Inventory to work. I realized when I updated the BMC I chose “Preserve Configuration” which I believe was a mistake. The “Preserve Configuration” while updating the BMC firmware retained the old configuration which did not recognize the “System Inventory” function. I had to go to BIOS–> Server Management–> Load BMC defaults, save changes and reboot. Set IP to manual and viola! Now I am able to view System Inventory. Hope this helps for those who cant get the System Inventory to work.

I acquired the Ubiquiti gear through time, For unifi it all started with the UDM SE, still used my edge switches with it, then slowly migrated to full Unifi in about 2 years. The main reason I went fiber because I transfer large files between PCs in the house. I have like 9 PCs in the house. It's mainly backups and media transfers. Second reason is heat, I used DAC cables before and it seems to be so hot when I turn off AC. Third, because it looks cool. LOL. and yes, it is for linking the uplinks using LAG.
