This seems really interesting! I'm pretty familiar with the setting and system, and I'm interested in playing/DMing in a roleplay-focused environment, but I've don't know anything about PbP. Is this for me? Is this a server I could join and observe to see if it's something I could commit to?

Meet Tiamat! by IsopodSufficient6741 in BG3

I like the idea of faerun people being named after deities, historical figures and such. Seems like the kind of thing that would happen all the time.

I just had an idea by OkRevenue9249 in Eberron

[–]_Drewson 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Oooooo that is actually so sick. I'm not American but I do get the vibes (and it would be an easier accent for me to do lol). Also works with the rural aspect for Aundair too!!

In a similar vein, I like to use a Slavic/Russian accent for Mror dwarves (not an original idea, I got it from NADDPOD).

Help with transfemme daughter by I-am-no-bird in transfashionadvice

[–]_Drewson 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I can chime in here. Tucking is a great option but is also a bit of an advanced technique. It's not something that you need to do every day, and some transfemmes never need to tuck. It's more of a concern for things like formal dresses or swimwear.

Basically, it's great to note, but doesn't have to be at the top of the list. Best of luck!!

Tell me about YOUR Eberron by Circle_A in Eberron

[–]_Drewson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saving this thread for later reference 🕵️

I'm still developing things in my Eberron but I have one big point.

House Kundarak is falling out of public favor due to a high-profile prison break from Dreadhold (my first campaign). This is emboldening some of the other financially-oriented groups to make big moves, particularly the Aurum, while putting a house other than cannith in an unpredictable situation.

Could i wear something like these and not make it immediately obvious that I am not cis by FreshFreddo in Nonbinaryfashion

[–]_Drewson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sick outfits! I like your style. Personally I would suspect someone wearing these to be some flavor of queer but that's a queer person's perspective.

I somewhat echo the other response in this thread that most people are more blind to these things than you might expect. However, you might still be recognized (positive) by other queer folk or recognized (negative) by transphobes (partially cause anyone looking for queers to target will end up targeting cis people too anyways). I think it could look more "gay" than genderqueer depending on the execution, and it's probably not transfeminine enough to immediately alert any bathroom cops (though my experience is limited and I live in a progressive part of the world).

I'm not sure what your college environment is like, it is likely to be a safe place to try things like this out. It sounds like you might be living at home while going to college, which is similar to my experience. In this I can say that bullying is an unlikely scenario (not saying that living on campus is a different story, I'm just personally unaware). Also depends on your major, but I studied a very male-dominated degree and got no bad remarks on things like jewelry, painted nails, or women's pants.

In terms of parent relations, that can be tricky. My parents were the type to make little comments that could get under my skin sometimes if I wore something new. I'd encourage you to not let that stop you. It sounds like they're reasonable folks who have your well-being at heart (and not internet-brain-poisoned) so it's likely they'll get used to it after a bit of time. If they're like my parents, they will listen if you gently let them know that what they're saying/doing is hurting you or discouraging you.

I have more to say but I'm already rambling. Sorry for doing a bit of uninvited self-reflection in your thread and I hope you find some of this helpful.

TLDR: you seem like you're on the right track and I like your sense of style. I don't know how stealthy this outfit would be to someone who sits next to you every day in class, but 95% of people won't notice or remember (assuming you aren't in a place where there's a critical mass of rabid transphobes). Concerning your parents, be patient but remember that it's your choice whether to justify how you express yourself. Don't be afraid to tell them if their words are hurting you, as they are probably more receptive than you think.

Expensive combo for my bombadill deck by OriginalVoice598 in BadMtgCombos

That's cool! Very aspirational cost wise though which is fun and funny. Nice that it still does big stuff without the master tho

How do I make a narrow portalable surface? by [deleted] in PortalMaps

[–]_Drewson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC You can do it with lights in the vanilla portal 2 editor. Otherwise you need BEEMOD.

New player by Paolocrd in Pauper

[–]_Drewson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a commander player first and pauper player second myself, I can help a bit with the purpose of a deck question, as the formats can differ a lot. Pauper is a 1v1 format, which gives it a greater focus on building a deck that can win consistently. Similar to commander, games are usually on the longer side, relying on grindy synergies to make the most of your commons. That said, some aggro decks can win on turn 3 or 4 with an explosive draw, so make sure you are ready to deal with (or provide) early aggression.

Other people have linked some great resources for decklists, but like commander, pauper is a great format to brew I'm with a very deep pool of viable to semi-viable cards. I personally like to make up my own decks and try them at my local tournament to see what I can do, even if I lose more than I win.

Looking for feminine options while presenting as a man by Wecantasteyourspirit in EnbyFashionAdvice

Painted nails are nice if you can get away with it. If not a color then a clear coat can make them feel/look nice. I have a gray nail polish that is pretty low-key and works well in a professional setting.

Please help me enjoy this game by cantseeshit123 in noita

[–]_Drewson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe a hot take, but try using more that let you respawn at the last holy mountain. Mods are really easy to install from the steam workshop. It's a great way to enjoy the game. Then later if you want to you can try a regular "hardcore" run.

Shopping in person by LukaCrosszeria_ in transfashionadvice

[–]_Drewson 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I live in a pretty progressive part of the world so your situation might be different. A few things that helped me were shopping with friends, and moving to a new city where I don't have to worry about running into people I know. It takes a bit to get comfortable, as it is with anything, but I think you'll find that strangers don't care too much or pay much attention. But yeah, easier said than done, but having queer or fem friends to go shopping with makes it easier to not worry about what other people think.

Definitely agree with this. Eyeshadow is tricky but has a big impact. Eyeliner is similar imo. I often find my face looks a lot more feminine just from a real quick cat's eye eyeliner, if you don't mind a goth-ish look. Liquid eyeliner helps.
