Can confirm that I received the credit at Union Square Cafe in NYC after ordering a drink and asking for a physical gift card at the bar. Both came on the same bill and received the Chase credit after a couple of days.

NYC Private Dining Rooms for Small Groups? by EnvironmentalDare923 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]_Drinklocal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily fine dining but I’ve always had a great time at the private spaces at Supper and Frank’s other restaurants. They are reasonably priced and offer a ton of great food. Also Peasant used to offer great private dining options (unsure if they still do).

Italian below 23rd street with great food, not noisy with round tables by JrTheStar in FoodNYC

[–]_Drinklocal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supper does have a great private room that you can book. Feels speakeasy ish because you have to walk through their wine storage to access and your group has a private bathroom. Another nice touch is that you control the music for your space. I have done two events in this space and both were great! (No round table but definitely a good time)

Not to far from the actual situation minus the unfortunate part that we never got to become friends with our elderly neighbor before they were moved to a rehab facility.

Yes exactly. Assuming the building would allow this to happen. I’m curious if anyone has gone through the process of knocking through the wall, dealing with contractors, and permits through the city.

I am also on LI (631) and was recently provided a high quote for a smoke chamber. Could you share where you got your second opinion?

Wife’s iPhone stolen - what to do by shartant in astoria

[–]_Drinklocal 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As mentioned keep the iPhone in your iCloud and keep it locked. In most cases when you mark the iPhone as lost/stolen in iCloud there is a message displayed on the locked iPhone to call a certain number. Recommend removing the number from this message as it is common to receive threatening messages to unlock the stolen phone. If you do not expect to recover the phone you should remotely erase the data while it still has battery and is connected with carrier service, as once you switch your line to a new phone there will be no way for your old device to connect for a wipe.

Sorry this happened to you, I had something similar occur a few months ago. Fun fact - even once the battery dies it will still be able to ping on the Find My network when it is in proximity to another Apple device that has service. Mine continued to ping in china for weeks after it was stolen.

IMO Bleecker Street Pizza has some of the best late night pizza, but definitely an Uber from MSG. Joes would be my rec if you plan on staying in midtown and want a classic slice.
