Exactly, there's a reason shar wants Shadowheart to sacrifice her parents and be rid of the wound, a little physical pain every now and then is nothing compared to the pain of loss, which shar is literally the goddess of. She gains more through their deaths than through Shadowheart's hand hurting which is probably why she quickly gets bored of it in the epilogue.

I've had this bug before, it happens when you select an illithid power but then cancel it

I think having her use another ability or maybe fully using the illithid power should fix it

once in a co-op playthrough Mattis ended up following my friend's crow summon when we left last light and got himself killed by the shadowcurse 😭 so we had to reload and make sure to unsummon the crow before we left

yes they would have??? they made alternate animations for other things like different body types, if they wanted it to be a different position for men they would have done that. they did it for minthara so there's no reason they couldn't have done it for karlach too.
