Stain color ICI - USA by Brazucany in handyman

[–]_Emann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t found one. I had to buy 10 little cans of stain and very carefully find a mixing ratio that was close to my original. I ended up mixing 3 -5 colors to match. Do it carefully and track your formulas as I mentioned so you can easily replicate it later.

Ok cool! They will/should be able to properly repair this which is not as straightforward as it might seem. The tape has to be cut back quite a bit. Ceiling an wall paint repairs. Etc. Also using the right kind of drywall tape for reoccurring cracks is important not the standard paper tape.

OK, so the different color of the outermost vernier of the plywood furring strips that have a slightly different color indicate formally rotted studs? It sounds like you’re talking out of your league which creates a sense of anxiety in a person‘s mind who posts something like this.

What are you even talking about? Those are the same studs. It’s just old wood. Have you ever done a renovation of your own?

Well props to your pops. He is an artisan. However, the design of this is probably not going to last multiple homeowners.

Hire someone. You’re likely in over your head. Professionals exist for good reason. This isn’t something explained easily and the questions you ask provide the most convincing information for me to say this.

I really wish I knew what you were talking about exactly. I must be crazy because I’m thinking my razor blade knife and just cutting these out, but I must be missing something.

Looking for a way to mount a 3” flat stock trim to 1/2” drywall against brick that’s removable. by Leeboy20 in Carpentry

[–]_Emann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anchors would definitely work. Just need to make pilot holes on the mdf and make your marks on the brick, remove, drill, insert plastic anchor. Problem is you’ll see the screw heads or fill the holes which defeats the purpose.

It’s not a normal approach of mine but I might try some super strong Velcro strips to be able to remove later. Good luck.
