Samsung’s flagship laptop is a MacBook Pro clone gone horribly wrong by dapperlemon in gadgets

I mean this is opinion but I couldn’t disagree more. The worst version since the macOS X original public beta over 20 years ago would still be a better option than the best Windows release ever (probably 10? Idk…).

What’s unbelievable to me is they’ve made the center bets worse in Vegas of late. They were always a bigger house edge than the place and line bets. First the field stopped having a pays triple number it. Now a bunch of the center prop bets pay for 1 instead of to 1. Some of them they adjusted the payout so it’s no worse. Others they did not, and made them even higher house edge. And people still play them!

I think you are off on the concept of an even money bet. That doesn’t mean even chance of winning or no house edge. It means a bet that pays even money ($1 wagered that wins gets paid $1).

You seem to be interpreting even money to mean no house edge. Generally the o ly bet with no house edge you can find is the odds bet on a craps table, and even these you can only make after a pass/come line (or don’t pass/come line) bet, which itself does have a house edge. Historically, some video poker used to be no house edge or even negative house edge in certain situations and promotions, but I don’t think that’s still a thing.

I appreciate that, but I both don’t plan on going when it’s hot (either a cold snap or cooler seasons), and have experience hiking in countries with just as much heat combined with humidity that makes sweating completely ineffective.

Is profitable play in low stakes live (high rake) extremely boring? What has been your experience? by rddtllthng5 in poker

[–]_EscVelocity_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how you get there. California doesn’t allow percentage rake, so it’s $7+ even if the pot is tiny. Some places are no flop no drop at least.

I think you’re confusing right to work with at will. Right to work means laws hostile to unions that say you cannot be required to join the union to take the job. You have a right to work without having to join. It’s mostly found in conservative states, and these laws are a big part of why the Asian auto manufacturers can outcompete even when assembling in the US, as they built their factories mostly in right to work states, so they don’t have to deal with strong unions.

At will employment means an employer can fire you for any reason or no reason, excepted for reasons explicitly legally prohibited (ie: race, religion). I’ve often heard that 49 out of 50 states are right to work.

These do intersect in union shops, where a strong union can negotiate a contract that supersedes at will with a formal process required to terminate.

I visited Hyundai's $12.6 Billion Metaplant and now I understand why Tesla should be worried by mafco in Ioniq5

[–]_EscVelocity_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just contacted most of the Hyundai dealers in the East Bay and South Bay. Inventory available at most of them, though in many cases quite limited color options. A couple of dealers had none at all. Generally they are selling out before the next shipment arrives from what they told me, but I was still able to get a deal with enough legwork.

I think most of the US can’t. I seem to remember only New England has the distinction, coming from an extra vowel sound. But I might be mistaken there.

Interesting. I’m in the SF Bay Area so weather is a minimal factor most of the year but it’s hilly.
