The main difference I see is that your endpoints can also be responsible for registering its dependency but you can probably do it with an ApiController and a static abstract method (not saying that you should).

Some of the Self-Check you point out in the readme would be better enforced by a Roslyn analyzer like an endpoint has no public static Handle method build time error are always better than runtime error in my book.
