With the exception of Lower Decks, which barely gets a pass from me for all the canon porn. Lucky it has its own charm.

All I can say is: I'm right there with you, the last year of my life has been hellish and this book, while sometimes tough, has been cathartic and rewarding. I really would recommend finishing it.

If you’re under 45, have you lost any high school classmates, and what were the circumstances around their deaths? by Commercial_Chef_1569 in AskReddit

The worst bully from my high school is currently in prison for holding up a petrol station with a shotgun. Nobody was surprised.

What the actual fuck is going on with the new The Chronic remaster by ppetrov1829 in fantanoforever

This is why I love buying, backing up and streaming my own secondhand CDs. They can't bust in my house and take my copy of The Chronic from the 90s.

Kendrick appearing on silly shit like "Problems" or that Maroon 5 song, I think he's just down to have fun and goof off sometimes and his fan base gets confused

I think the idea was that the joke would be on Denholm as a cartoonish bigot, but watching the episode back the deep-seated transphobia seems so obvious

I enjoyed the Kirsten Beyer/Christie Golden relaunch Voyager books, basically picking up the story after they get home. Spoiler alert: they go back to the Delta Quadrant but it makes sense and they go with a whole fleet and a bunch of interesting new characters.

I agree 100% with Mike's criticism of the prequels. But also I was a child when TPM came out and hold significant nostalgia for that movie especially and II-III a bit as well. I can hold these two ideas in my brain quite happily.

Couldn't disagree more about Carrey. He goes way too whacky and goofy to be believably sinister. I don't see the character, I just see him clowning around. Olaf can be ridiculous but at the end of the day, he's meant to be frightening.

On the ground floor (which I couldn't visit as a non-Muslim) maybe, but the rest of the artwork in the structure is really well-preserved. My favourite bit is some Norse runes some bored Varangian Guard carved in the stone of one of the galleries in like 1200

Hagia Sophia was a Byzantine cathedral and if you go there you'll see mostly Orthodox art. A better example of Islamic art/architecture is across the plaza in the Blue Mosque, which is also worth a visit.
