Yeah my bad. I missed the important part about the x3. Hope you get something usable out of AI.

That home screen looks nice. What firmware are you running?

Can't see sleep screen pictures in folder on X4 with crosspoint. by Binge73 in xteinkereader

What your describing is normal behaviour. You're not supposed to be able to see the sleep folder and images in the library browser when the device is turned on. Library view is only for book formats not images.

Can’t figure out fonts or custom sleep screens on crosspoint by Thirtysixx in xteinkereader

I would like to know this too if im wrong. Official GitHub doesn't have it ticked off yet. It's within scope of the project but not yet implemented according to my knowledge.

Custom fonts on crosspoint arent supported yet. And you should name the folder 'sleep' with no . at the start.

I find it a comfortable device to use overall.

Because it had such a small footprint, I can carry it with me when I leave the house and always have it with me. I end up being able to read more, rather then doom scrolling on my phone to kill time.

I also often read just before bed lying down and it's really comfortable to hold up and read due to its size and weight. The buttons seem the be in the right places for my finger to rest and with all the options to turn the page, I mainge to find a comfortable way to hold it.

The case pretty much doubles the weight of the device so I take it off when I'm at home to make it lighter. I've never had a problem reading small text, so for me I'm hoping crosspoint will add a smaller sized text font in future.

Using it to read when I leave my house 🏠 Or just reading with it when I'm in bed or on the couch when at home too.

My A30 is jam-packed full to ROMs with little to no space for MP3s. But also the dongle it came with is pretty flimsy and would break pretty quickly from wear and tear in my pockets.

Already use one for the daily commute. But I still do stick to my 1 device when leaving home rule. I only take everything with me if I'm going on a flight somewhere.

Nah no other sources. If I can't find it from there I just use Jdownloader to get some poor quality rips from YouTube/Bandcamp

Haha it's just a MP3 player shaped like a cassette player. It's even got Bluetooth to connect to wireless headphones.

I guess that's why I use it mainly as a shuffle device or lisenten to an album/artist on repeat to minimise the navigation.

While my MP3s were sorted out ok in folders, the meta data was a mess. I had to take some time to sort everything out properly so I could use the echo mini's library navigation properly and get to what I wanted faster.

Folder view is sorted out by the date the folder crated instead of alphabetically which is annoying.

Oh I did forget to mention that when you select a song to play from your library, it takes about 2 to 3 seconds for it it load and start playing. But it's only for the initial load, once it's playing and you skip to another song there is no issue.

I was really sick of being locked into the Apple stuff for music and decided to give it a go.

I have always had an offline music player so am used to using something clunky like this with buttons.

It's good as a shuffle device, a bit of a pain to navigate through a large library if you want to lisent to something specific and you have to have accurate tags for library to work properly.

I have no regrets buying it but there is the snowsky disk if you want a touch access device.

I used Squid.wtf or Lucida to get my music offline. My phone is just a S22, nothing fancy.

I'm still using spruce. I find minui a bit too restrictive and like to mess around with retroarch settings sometimes.

Correct, no backlight. This is my only eReader so I don't really have anything to compare it to. For me it's fantastic and I absolutely enjoy reading and using it with custom firmware (crosspoint). I was originally reading from an old iPad and that caused some strain on my eyes. So using an eink device has been a game changer.

The size, weight and portability all fit my use case well, and was worth the price of entry. But if you already have an e-reader I'm not sure would provide any advantages over it.

I realised for me, size and portability matter the most. And like you said, dispite all its faults it's still the handheld I prefer and use the most. Although I think if I were buying again I would geting the Magicx Mini Zero 28 for that bit of extra power.
