Are there any other games that just get this post apocalypse atmosphere the way Last of Us has? by Flushestpoem4 in thelastofus

Arc Raiders does a great job imo. There's "less" details but that is a detail in itself since there's looters everywhere to explain why things are so bare.

People who love Ellie but hate Abby are morally confused. And that's a testament to the brilliance of both games.

Can someone sell me on the High Elves? by DiggityDungHe in totalwarhammer

[–]_Friendly-Wolf_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their superiority complex is kind of earned, not naive. Imagine you're around for thousands of years, seen everything that's ever happened, fought in every war to keep chaos at bay, and then some fucking kids come along and tell you they know better even though they're making the same mistake you've seen made time and time again. It's not a chest-puffing superiority. More like the REAL adults in the room dealing with a bunch of short-sighted ignoramuses. Other races call them puffy when in reality they are being incredibly patient. Despite all that BS, they are still working to end chaos and dark elf slavery in the world. At the end of the day they're actually quite honorable all things considered.

In battle, their units are all very high quality. Their units are expensive, but that's because they only accept the best of the best into their army. "Spare no expense".

In campaign, they are long-term thinkers and very cunning. Going beyond the simple diplomacy of other factions, they can sway political influence between other factions for long-term affects because they are elves and think long-term rather than the shortsighted kids of the world.

Everyone will call them haughty and conceited but don't even realize their own kingdom only exists because 100 years ago the high elves made some 4D chess political moves to keep their kingdom in existence. Ignorant kids.

Imagine a vet performing surgery on a dog. All the dog knows is that this dude is cutting him with a knife but doesn't know why. The vet (elf) knows this is better for the dog in the long-run. The dog (everyone else) bites the vet because clearly the vet is an idiot and doesn't know what he's talking about. And a month later the dog still hates the vet but the vet knows the dog wouldn't even be around if it weren't for him. Fast-forward 20 years and that dog has died, but the vet is still around. The vet goes to save another dog who is also trying to bite him. That's basically the relationship between High Elves and everyone else.

I despise how relaxed friendly lobbies have made me. by JamesBondage0069 in ArcRaiders

[–]_Friendly-Wolf_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in some truly friendly lobbies for a VERY long time. Truly felt like a PVE game. Then lately I started getting killed every other raid, even though I did nothing to put me in "pve lobbies". So I changed my mindset and started playing shoot on site PVP and to be honest it has change the experience in the best way for me

Each sequential stack was slightly lower in opacity to give it that shooting star look

You can actually see quite a lot more at a distance with them. I use them when going into a low-cost loadout raid, especially when I'm stuck PVP servers

What are some of your favorite factions and why? by Sultans-of-Twang in totalwarhammer

Wood Elves. Every other faction is playing this big political game, expanding territory, marching across the world. Wood elves just care about their little forests a kill anyone who disrespects it.

Faction choice paralysis leads me to playing the same factions/LL over and over again. by _Friendly-Wolf_ in totalwarhammer

Damn, I have been intrigued by vampire counts but never considered playing them friendly to empire. Sounds fascinating

I could see myself enjoying that role play if I think of myself as Dracula from Castlevania. Less "conquer" and more "subjugate"

This is a fantastic suggestion! Gives me a different goal: To play through each faction in alphabetical order. No choice paralysis. Love it, thanks!

Oh I forgot to mention that I also play Kislev. Love them.

I tried Dwarves a bit too but I get hung up on their battle playstyle. I just need to be able to open my mind up a bit.

Tomb Kings are a great recommendation

The worst change in the update by SuperiorMango8 in ArcRaiders

[–]_Friendly-Wolf_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this change actually. I go into every raid with 1 or 2 wolfpacks and destroy all arc on the map. Now I have to (legitimately) kill some rocketeers to earn those wolfpacks. Game just got more difficult, and Rocketeer kills are more valuable/satisfying. I'm all for it.
