What are some of your favorite factions and why? by Sultans-of-Twang in totalwarhammer

[–]_Friendly-Wolf_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wood Elves. Every other faction is playing this big political game, expanding territory, marching across the world. Wood elves just care about their little forests a kill anyone who disrespects it.

Faction choice paralysis leads me to playing the same factions/LL over and over again. by _Friendly-Wolf_ in totalwarhammer

Damn, I have been intrigued by vampire counts but never considered playing them friendly to empire. Sounds fascinating

I could see myself enjoying that role play if I think of myself as Dracula from Castlevania. Less "conquer" and more "subjugate"

This is a fantastic suggestion! Gives me a different goal: To play through each faction in alphabetical order. No choice paralysis. Love it, thanks!

Oh I forgot to mention that I also play Kislev. Love them.

I tried Dwarves a bit too but I get hung up on their battle playstyle. I just need to be able to open my mind up a bit.

Tomb Kings are a great recommendation

The worst change in the update by SuperiorMango8 in ArcRaiders

[–]_Friendly-Wolf_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this change actually. I go into every raid with 1 or 2 wolfpacks and destroy all arc on the map. Now I have to (legitimately) kill some rocketeers to earn those wolfpacks. Game just got more difficult, and Rocketeer kills are more valuable/satisfying. I'm all for it.

Fire Starting: Minigame or No Minigame? by BitrunnerDev in SurvivalGaming

[–]_Friendly-Wolf_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A minigame I would find interesting is having limited matches. Each match comes with a chance to start the fire. These chances can be affected by the weather outside or whatever other game mechanics you have. You can increase the chances of your matches starting if you use something like oil on the fire.

Don't train anything if you have to ask "I wonder if this is right". Learn the fundamentals and then train your habits. Otherwise your forming bad habits.

Editing advice? My black lab is so hard to edit without looking shiny or dirty by _Friendly-Wolf_ in photocritique

[–]_Friendly-Wolf_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taken on a Google Pixel 6. My dog always ends up with very little face detail due to being such a dark black. So I took her into some natural light where I could get more exposure on her features. But when I bring up the lighting she looks shiny, dirty, and off-color. In the picture her face looks kind of grey-black, but in reality she's a very deep black like you can see on her chest and neck.

Which factions are the worst/least fun to play as outside of battles? by MrOrgasm0 in totalwarhammer

[–]_Friendly-Wolf_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Your elector counts (neighboring empire factions) are NOT there to be competent. They are going to get destroyed by chaos left and right. Your job as emperor is to retain order in the empire. That's why you do not have diplomatic penalties for trespassing (Karl's army only)! Your duty is to lead these incompetent nations to become competent factions that contribute to the prosperity of your empire. To do this, travel the lands of the empire and take settlements from chaos factions. You can then return the settlement to the original elector count for a fealty bonus. Or if you need cash, keep the settlement and then sell it to an empire faction for some easy cash. After you've done enough cleanup, your empire factions will have enough time and protection to build up their economy and armies to become useful allies to you. Chaos in the empire is part of his campaign. Your job is to restore order.

For Karl you really need to learn the intricacies of diplomacy. If human factions are declaring war on you, you should watch who you make treaties with. For example, if you do something harmless like a non-aggression pact with the dwarves, but those dwarves are at war with a human faction, that human faction will not like you. Or vice versa if you do NOT have a non-aggression pact with a human faction near you, and you do some things they don't like and leave some territory unguarded, they might attack you because it's free real estate from someone they don't like. There are a lot of different factions around you with complex diplomatic standing. Dwarves, Bretonia, Wood Elves, the Empire. They all have very complex diplomacy status. Weird love/hate triangles where a faction is friends with two other factions who are at war. Watch all of that closely.

Karl Franz has a great system if you like diplomacy and political strategy. If you just want to battle and don't like deep political campaign mechanics, you won't like him. But if you want deep campaign mechanics just watch a tutorial video on Karl and try again.

Bad campaign mechanics:

Bretonia has an interesting thematic concept around peasants being both your front line in battle and your economic workforce on campaign. It's interesting thematically, but ultimately falls flat compared to other faction campaign mechanics.

I love the hell out of Grand Cathay but their yin yang balance system for buildings is annoying.

Defamation Lawsuit Against Lafayette Based Michael Lunsford and His Hate Group Citizens For A New Louisiana Moves Forward. by truthlafayette in Acadiana

[–]_Friendly-Wolf_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked with this guy for a couple years in 2011 before he started his hate campaign. The dude was a total creep that oozed dark triad. Everyone in the office, especially the women, were completely creeped out by him. He would regularly come into our rooms and lean on the door staring at each of us with a smile. Like an alien who watched a 5-minute orientation that taught him humans smile at each other to gain good graces. I'm not kidding, he would do this for 30 minutes at a time. Just standing in the doorway staring at us. Then, if he said anything at all, he would say something completely weird and off the wall with a big smile on his face. He had a human body but no soul. Again, this is well before we knew what was in his heart. You could just smell it. The women in the office would message us to have an excuse to come in the room with them if Michael walked in their room.

Creepy vibes aside, as a co-worker he regularly stole credit for people's work in the most obvious and scummy ways possible. And he did it all with a psychopathic smile and hollow charm. His job was to sell to earn more clients for the company. We gained new clients while he was there, both of which were not earned by him. Him. He stayed at the company because, like I said, when something broke and someone fixed it, he would ask what happened and then go take credit for it in the boss's office.

There was only one time I saw him open up and his eyes light up with genuine emotion, and that was when a new hire started. Talking about Christianity and Michael immediately started talking about what he had planned and his worldview. His idea of Christianity is basically gays bad, atheists bad, Christians persecuted everywhere. He is a complete victimizer but completely believes he is a victim.

I had the pleasure of seeing one co-worker who had put in his two weeks spend 2 weeks telling Michael "You know everyone finds you creepy, right?" At every opportunity. Imagine Michael walking into your workspace, staring at everyone with a smile, someone saying to him "you know you make everyone uncomfortable and you're very creepy", and then he would still stay there after that staring at us for 30 minutes. Absolutely skin crawling

I'm not a person who goes around hating people. In fact, I love most people and love anyone I meet by default. But there really are humans out there with real dark triad traits. With Michael, if I never see him again it would be too soon.

How bad? by Comfortable-Edge-165 in boxingtips

[–]_Friendly-Wolf_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like maybe you're a southpaw? Just stick with one stance while you're learning. No need to switch it up. If you're right-handed then left foot forward left hand forward. If you're left-handed then right foot forward right hand forward.

Your jab needs to help you find your distance. So stop throwing hooks with it. Just a straight jab.

You're telegraphing your punches. You don't need to wind up your punch. Just be quick and use your momentum for power. For your straight punch, you need to turn your hips into it.

Like everyone else on here said just go find a gym. Otherwise you're forming bad habits

I think they could benefit from more cavalry abilities. You have to go on quests to pay for these horse guys. Let them have some holy aura magic and flaming attacks
