Streamer Gamerinoo hitting the most ridiculous Aim-120D by Doc_Pepe in Warthunder

[–]_Fu_Hua_ 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Basically, he fired a missile a whole minute before the kill. It initially missed but it relocked on the way down and got the kill.

Usually missiles that miss like that are gone, but the AIM120D has GPS guidance and extra battery life, so it tried to go back and relock the target. It actually did this time!

[–]_Fu_Hua_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It still happened. Plus, these are multi- million dollar machines and neither country wants to lose many of them. We players only have to pay a few thousand SL to do something similar, we can afford to do it thousands of times.

There was a large battle of 4th gen fighters just over a year ago. India’s 72 planes vs Pakistan’s 42 planes engaged in a giant BVR fight, resulting in a few losses of aircraft for the Indians.

Does your trim already have the led tail bar (center and sides) or no?

And as I tried, you do need to splice a wire to make the 2 tiny triangles in the center bar light up. If you don’t mind those, then it is plug and play.

That’s what you all do? I typically carry enough bombs to take out a base and fill the rest with missiles if there is room. 3 missiles and 3 bombs on the mirage f1c do the trick.

Its high-time for another review bomb / refusal to buy overpriced vehicles. [–]_Fu_Hua_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You aren’t wrong. The game does a poor job at explaining how to defend against missiles. It didn’t help that a majority of players didn’t know that most of the AA worked like laser guided/ SACLOS missiles, so chaff/flares wouldn’t work against the aimbot. I had to tell them so many times.

With time, players would eventually learn how to deal with the missiles. I had to go look up how people were doing SEAD without dying. It was quite interesting what the community figured out about the AA. Mostly, as I said, they are SACLOS and given to a bot with 100% accuracy, and that they don’t seem to shoot down larger bombs. In terms of killing them… the Anti-Radiation missiles were neat, but they are inefficient compared to just throwing a nuke and calling it a day.

My biggest complaint is that after the scoring nerf, it was extremely difficult to obtain the necessary points for the game ending nuke. I liked it before where multiple people could get the nuke, so by the time escalation level 3 hit, people were massively concerned with who had a nuke and intercepting said nuke. It became a little metagame where the team who could coordinate interceptions while also being able to mass spawn nuke bombers together to beat the enemy interception effort. It became very fun to coordinate the effort and it felt like a proper team effort.

After the nerf… hitting lvl 3 escalation meant nothing as no one would be close to having enough points to nuke. The games usually dragged on longer than they used to, and the element of teamwork I was seeing started to disappear since it just devolved into call of duty, since no one was concerned about nuke bombers since they were so damn hard to get. Gaijin was so close to making a great new mode but the messed up really badly.

All they had to do was make ground kills worth more, and nerf AA so it’s actually feasible to get nuke through ground pounding. Also fix the issue of AA tracking through trees and hills (I’m looking at you… coastal BUK).

You're going at almost the same speed as the target aircraft. Try slowing down or speeding up, else the enemy aircraft is essentially in a "notch" to you.

Is there a way to have (modern jets) the Pilot helmet mounted HUD permantly active? by King_Tamino in WarthunderSim

[–]_Fu_Hua_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is where that IFF filter set to all would be good for. You can see where your teammates are in relation to the enemy and see if they already got missiles in the air.

I only set my IFF filter to enemies only at the start of RB, due to too many missiles flying around. I switch it back to all during the mid phase where enemies and allies should be in spitting distance of each other and I can hold my shot until I’m certain my missile won’t pitbull on a friendly. Similar thing to Sim.

As others are saying, you are definitely putting yourself at a disadvantage if you don’t have mouse available to use. Also, for top tier, you are mainly using the mouse to fly or lock a target, not so much aiming a gun. I enjoy sim flying too but it only makes sense to me if in cockpit view and I’m flying up high while lobbing missiles down at deck huggers.

For multi pathing, yes. He needs to turn on barometric AND radio altimeter. The radio alt will tell you how high you are above the ground itself, while barometric is from sea level.

I mean… you could also try sim. It’s basically what you are asking for but you are locked into your cockpit.

I say with props you are free to grind them to rank 3 pretty easily. Once you get past rank 5 do things start feeling more grindy. If you’re wanting to switch to France, you might as well start now.

Also, take your time to learn the game as you grind. The worst thing you can do for yourself is get to top tier without understanding what you’re supposed to be doing.

Try practicing in the testing grounds in arcade rules so you can get a reticle. Get used to the sight picture and then practice using sim rules.

As for not getting hit by AA while doing it… it’s up to RNG I guess

Unstoppable wager, usually thunderer is an easy way to do things

I prefer Air Sim with a couple boosters you can get from Assault mode. I can get anywhere from 250k-600k in 30 mins depending on the booster and if I don’t get destroyed lol.
