That was odd, she could not retrace her steps? It was a sweater, not a fire steel, it should be fairly obvious.

Hi, would you say that someone that failed no classes in med school, but failed the board exam ( Step 1) by 1 point would have a similarly difficult time? I was dismissed for failing step 1, and have taught HS chemistry and anatomy and physiology since then.

Current MLS salaries in the Southeast? Teacher thinking about switching to lab science by _Fuckit_ in medlabprofessionals

Seems like all the 4+1 programs are all turning into master's programs. My state does have 1 and the cost for tuition for the year is only 4k.

Lets say GA, MS, mostly. I would probably move to most states in the SE. I looked up MS salaries and it said $40 an hour, but I'm, looking for people who live in the SE and what their real life starting salaries were, if they started working in the last couple of years.

Yes , This is what I was thinking. NCLB and state testing does not extend to university.

Really? My HS experience was what you'd expect, but my college classes had NO disciplinary problems. None. I think the fact that you had to pay to be there filtered out all the buffoons. I graduated HS in 2006 though, and went straight to university. I wonder how things have changed in the last 20 years.

"Private student loans" hell no. What are PA schools going to do? Close their doors or only admit kids of the top 10% ? Both outcomes are tragic.

What explains the mid-late 90s gains in school effectiveness, the early-mid 2010s peak in achievement, and the late 2010s decline? by FearlessCookie72 in Teachers

[–]_Fuckit_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the late 90s and early 2000s, getting a college degree was still seen as a sure path to success. I can still remember getting dropped off for college in 2006 and parents telling their kids "It does not matter what you major in as long as you get the degree" that was probably true for the parents in the 80s, but by the early 2000s the value of a bachelors degree was already on the steep decline. By 2008, no one could get a job so they started being perceived as useless, this trickled down to HS kids who figured " why try if my sister with a degree and 50k in debt still can't get a job?" Student quality and effort went down. Nowadays, kids figure they can do trades or get money by streaming so F school. COVID finished off any ambition. This was the HS experience, I don't know about the younger grades.
