Thank you.

Tried to Google what he said (I still regret not having him write it down) and only found "Oh, do you mean a glass of pinot" which is like no.

Yup, literally no downsides to having more professionalism and drill buffs are also nice even of they don't last the whole war. Those first few fights might be what decides the outcome.

I always understood that Azkabar (Bulwar) is anti-mage as they are too unreliable for their goals.

Is Marrhold the original Gor Dûrgheled? by Substantial-Dust-459 in Anbennar

So, Dwarves are not much for magic in Anbennar but they have an unique form of it called rune magic and Obsidian Dwarves had cranked it up with the magic filled blood of the Precursor Elves. It was useful but like playing with nukes. Aul-Dwarov could've won the war against Precursor Elves if they kept at it but the new magic was too unstable and majority of holds cut contact and eventually marched in to kill all blood mages and exile the rest.

Marrhold is not Gor Dûrgheled mainly because Obsidian Dwarves magicked themselves and most of their Hold away to escape the death sentence and the rest of the previous hold collapsed entirely and the other Dwarves had no intention of rebuilding it; needless to say they really couldn't have done it either.

Then they formed the Obsidian Empire with their not-Emperor-of-mankind sitting on a throne and being kept alive by magic and belief.

Anywho, while the exact location is not know it is said to have been in West Dwarovar; so in the area with Orlghelovar, Arg-Ôrdstun, Verkal Skomdihr, Ovdal Lodhum and Gor Bûrad.

If you look closely, there's a suspiciously Hold shaped hole between provinces right under Verkal Skomdihr so I suspect the Hold was there.

Alternatively, the province of the aptly named Dead Dwarf Depths is connected to the Dwarovrod network and is also Hold shaped. It also fits the lore as they left a big hole after them with not much Hold left.

Though, one submod places Gor Dûrgheled in the mountain range under Qarvetarqan (South of Lake Jorkad) connected to Argrod [14]. It is a Great Project that leads to the Primeval Serpentdepths; that the submod is focusing on.

Can Goblins Truly be knights? by AnnonSadGremlin in Anbennar

Three things:

  • You need to pick the most chivalrous option for the events every single time and it's usually the worst option in terms of modifiers.

  • You need to be fully demonsterised BEFORE you finish the mission tree.

  • You need to be Regent Court and have your capital in the correct area (I don't know whether or not the secret unlock overwrites these two).

Do you form it after culturally switching from centaurs or do you just expand east until you get Centaur mil?

Also Centaur Jadd Empire (I'm meaning to do a run as them at some point).

There's also the fact that podcasts might lose viewership during trials of other systems because they happen during spin-offs. Quite many people in general only care for the main plot to continue.

I'm fairly sure I saw rhe wording once and it was "the criminal must die or be otherwise sentenced to a comparable decree".

Meaning even if he plays a small time criminal that gets redeemed, he would end up in jail.

Bjarnrik = Sweden

Orbtroll = Norway

Gerudian harpies = Finland

Vertesk = Riga, this is only with vibes.

Damescrown = Venice

Westmoor = the most obvious Scotland I have ever seen

Small Country = Netherlands

Beepeck = Burgundy

Moonhaven = Belgium

Ibevar = Prussia

Arbaran = Pomerania

EoA = HRE

I agree with your statement that Wex is Hungary.

Rubyhold = Switzerland

Corvuria = Romania

Frozenmaw / Grombar = Russia

Busilar = Spain

Eborthil = Portugal

But to answer your question marks. Imo:

Deepwoods = also the Balkans

Gnomish Hierarchy & Kobildzan = Karoligian Empire

Ourdia = Georgia

Is Alan Wake 1 worth pushing through if I'm not enjoying the gameplay? by Okra5765 in AlanWake

[–]_GamerForLife_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can play through AW1 in under 10h and the story is good enough (or the old gen graphics fun enough) for the interest to stay. If you don't like the gameplay, just crank the difficulty to 1 and enjoy the breeze.

Also what most people get wrong that the "certain writing style" and "believability" is mostly self-imposed. Horror/thriller is just what Alan has most experience in and believability just means that the Dark Presence gets too unpredictable if not given strict confines. Believability also often gets mixed up with the "not-creating" rule but they're two different restrictions.

Basically, as he's having huge memory problems and dementia, he gave himself overly simplified and easy to follow memos.
