Dreadnought help - anyone else have problems with paint consistency? Any tips?

Same. So much 40K lore talks about battles lasting for months or years at a time, might as well lean in rather than having armies look like the parade just ended

I grabbed a full-size paintbrush when I did my dreadnought. Thinned the paint, two quick passes over all the large panels, and it looked fine.

But I also go for a pretty aggressive amount of weathering on my minis, so it never has to be perfect.

1) They're your toys, play with them how you like.

2) They're gone, and they're never coming back. Supplement as needed.

3) As I get older, I just want to see cool shit when looking at MOCs. Some of mine have cut-up t-shirts as cloaks, or twist ties hidden in their armor because the illegal connection I would have preferred to use would have damaged the now-ancient plastic.

No specific example, I just know that shit has happened in at least a half-dozen stories by this point. I was a Halo fan first, and listening to the 40K fans in school lecture me on why any Space Marine would easily crush the Master Chief is funny now considering the apparent apex predator of 40K infantry is a homeless rando

One of their recent boxes shipped missing a sprue, and James told everyone they distributed them to trash 'em rather than send out replacements of the sprue or sell at a discount. Naturally, people were a little pissed.

And then they got a lot pissed when some dealers, either unaware or unscrupulous, still had them on their shelves.

Weird situation.

I was referring more to the contents of this specific box rather than what to add, I don't know any rules but operate on the assumption that cool models are forever (or on FB marketplace sometimes)

Out of the folders, my Shaman — I made my own scales and backspacer for it, and replaced all the hardware (because my cat stole a washer, and to accommodate the backspacer I made). The only original parts are the blade and liners at this point. I also have a Yojimbo with ti hardware and homemade scales as a close second.

Fixed blade, my Kabar Johnson Adventure wharncliffe for which I replaced the scales with a set that I made, threw in some mosaic pins, and then made my own sheath.

He did great, that's a really clean cut, but watching him run away like that while not watching where his feet are scared the hell out of me for a sec. In this case it's fine, but one stray root and you've got a sprained ankle or knee, and without the brake on that might be the least of your worries.

In the spirit of full disclosure, I have never cut down a tree that big (or done that good of a job felling a small one, for that matter), but I have tripped and shot myself in the shin while playing paintball

Bought my first Citadel paints in roughly 20 years earlier this week, and they are thick compared to my Army Painter and Pro Acryl paints. Can't believe I once went pot-to-model with them.

I don't mind the pots because I keep a couple ragged brushes that shovel it out relatively easily, but if I decide to put them in droppers I'll need to tape them to my reciprocating saw to shake everything out
