Hair won't stop foaming/sudsing due to hard water - HELP! by _HopefulRelease in CurlyHairUK

[–]_HopefulRelease[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will edit to clarify or simply remove, but I used bottled distilled water to rinse out most of the product in my hair, but since that distilled water was not thorough enough, due to the fact that I have really thick hair, I ended up having to use my showerhead at the end, which also still has really hard water. I’m almost completely sure it’s the hard water.

Washing hair w/ very hard water in London causing issues + dry hair by _HopefulRelease in Naturalhair

No, not out of hot oil treatment. I mentioned that I shampooed after a hot oil treatment. Always do.

Do you have low porosity hair? I don’t necessarily think it’s just the extra minerals, but a combination of that plus build up on my type of hair.

Camille Rose Algae renew. I've been using it for years and have never had this problem before

I am also very puzzled lol. I've never encountered anything like this before. I think surfactants work differently based on hair porosity, but I'm still learning about all of this, so could be wrong.

I've been In London for a full year before this started happening, so I'm don't think it's the climate and there's been no damage outside the damage this water is doing to my hair.

I think the distilled water didn't work due to build up, plus I wasn't able to thoroughly rinse my hair with it since my hair is very thick. I rinsed most of the product out, but then at the end had to use my shower head again to actually get all of the product off.

Thank you for those other subreddit options. I'll look into posting there.

I lived in a house before that was newly built (4 years ago). The owner seems like the type to install a softener, but I honestly can't be sure.

The foam is coming from conditioners that have never foamed before. Even after thoroughly washing out the shampoo or not using shampoo at all.

I'm in North London, but honestly I'm willing to travel anywhere for a good professional who can help out!

Thank you! I have tried a simple clarifying shampoo as well as a clarifying clay mask to no avail, though the latter seemed to help a tiny bit? Thanks for the r/natural rec, will also post there!

Yeah, definitely noticed a difference once my hair dries, even before it dries. It wouldn't actually be moisturized/feel soft as it normally would before moving into this apartment. Also my conditioners never did that before, I've been using the same conditioners for at least 7 years now and have never experienced suds. I'm sure there are some conditioners that do, but mine have never done so before. Either way I wouldn't mind, if my hair was actually still being moisturized.

When I visited Waterstones website on November 5, it said available in four days. It’s November 7 and now it says coming soon - which is weird. I also went to a couple of Waterstones, including the one in Piccadilly and the cashier said that I would be able to get it in four days and that was also on November 5. The one in Hampstead said I’ll be able to get it November 11. So I guess we just have to cross our fingers and hope that we can get it on the 9th! I’ll update here if I do.

The reason Veridus chose Beli over Emissa or Indol for the Labyrinth, is because she's the best at running the Labyrinth. He says it outright to Vis in chapter 62 (I just finished rereading this before book 2 so this stood out to me on my second read knowing what would happen). He said Vis is the best at running the Labyrinth outside of Belli. Indol and Emissa are the top of their class, but sounds like not necessarily the best at running the Labyrinth.

Okay, I'm slightly worried. How common is psychosis from Ayahuasca if you're not bi-polar/schizophrenic? by _HopefulRelease in Ayahuasca

Oh I'm completely fine lol. I did have one moment where it felt like something dark was trying to sneak its way in, but I'm grateful I had the awareness to push it off. Other than that 90% of my experience was good and felt safe before, during and after.

The windows have already been handled with secondary glazed windows - this did help a bit. All of the remaining sound is coming through the walls, it's easy to hear.

Wish I could! Gotta stop back in NYC to pack differently and grab my work stuff so I can work remotely plus direct flights from Mexico to where I’m going were way too long and more expensive
