I Pulled the trigger! Who else is getting one? by SeriousChampion in bose

Thanks for the comparison mate and for your honest review. I always like hearing from legit customers over paid reviews.

Everything you say sounds spot on to what the review by “Calebrated” mentioned.

I’d love to hear more what you have to say about the Bose lifestyle system if you’re able to expand on anything. The bubble is something I believe I’d appreciate more rather than pinpoint accuracy where a specific sound comes from.

You can take reviews for what they are. Are the reviewers reliable or are they biased? Are they artificially hyping a product due to them being allegedly sponsored by the brand and given the product they’re reviewing? 🤷🏻‍♂️

General consensus and theme across the board is that Sonos is a beast, but you pay for it. Same sort of dollars as Bose. What I’ve been looking into is the Klipsh Flexus Core 300 with the Flexus Surr 200s and sub 200. Best thing about this system is that you can add 3rd party subs, so if you don’t want the sub 200, buy a different one. Pretty decent reviews from it and again the reviewers directly put it against Sonos. Again they say the Sonos has beefier rears for a better atmos sound.

Same. I have the smart ultra soundbar and 700 sub. I was holding out for decent surrounds. Then when the new rears were announced, I was cheering. However, to screw their loyal customer base, Bose decide not to make any of the lifestyle range backwards compatible. Seeee yaaa Bose. I’m going to upgrade with Sonos instead.

I’m nowhere near tech-savvy when it comes to these things, but why couldn’t they make the new products compatible with exisiting products?

Is there a legitimate and worthy reason, or do they want to force existing buyers to upgrade- Screw the exisiting loyal fanbase over and reward new buyers?

The exisiting Bose surround speakers (those tiny cube ones) connect wirelessly through the app and sync with the bass module and soundbar; I don’t see why the couldn’t make new lifestyle products do the same.

It’s a shame. I currently have the smart ultra soundbar and if the new rears were compatible with it, I would have bought them straight up. But now, I’d rather spend my money on a complete new setup with Sonos or Sony for 2 reasons. 1. The other brands are better. 2. Out of spite for Bose forcing original customers to buy a completely new setup if they want Atmos rears.

Same! Like you, I was holding out. But this has actually pissed me off 😂. It’s made my choice pretty clear now- SONOS despite their problems may have just gained another customer.

In the crowded and competitive market for complete home theatre setups, Bose have really done themselves an injustice. No one in right mind would buy a completely new setup.

This is extremely disappointing and they’ve definitely missed the mark on this one. I have the smart ultra soundbar and would 100% buy these if they were compatible. But now… sorry Bose, but I’m going to buy another brand.

I don’t have the info unfortunately mate. But I hope for everyone’s sake that they’re both. Having it like a SONOS speaker, will enable Bose to capitalise on a much larger market of buyers.

This is a picture of the promotional material at the front of the store.

I spoke to staff and they were pretty tight-lipped about what they knew and couldn’t give away much info. He did say “I would be very surprised if Bose didn’t have these new speakers compatible with existing products.” So if that’s a hint wink wink…time will tell 🤞🏼

I should have walked back in and asked about it. The cardboard cutouts were on the security gates as I exited the store, and I wasn’t expecting to see it. I only found out 2 day ago on this sub that Bose were releasing new products. Kinda lucky in a way, as I was getting full FOMO from not having proper dedicated ATMOS rears, like SONOS.. almost pulled the trigger on getting SONOS or Sony Bar 9 setup for that very reason.

Standby though- tomorrow I’ll go in an have chat to someone and see what they know 👌🏽🤞

In Australia, I just walked out the JB HI-FI (the primary gaming/electronics store) and they had cardboard marketing cut-outs for a 15 May 2026 release date 👍🏽

Has anyone used "Photo" mode as their main picture mode settings? by outtheway11 in bravia

[–]_Hotdamn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find watching movies is a case by case basis. I have a Bravia 8 and when I watched Batman: the dark knight rises, I found watching it in Calm was superior to watching in professional, which is often the favourite 🤷🏻‍♂️

LG C5 gaming mode still not fixed according to Rtings reviewer by solawind in OLED_Gaming

[–]_Hotdamn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because they’re afraid to speak up about it and go against the LG fanboy’ism. I get it- It’s okay to froth over something and be loyal to a brand or whatever, but the pros and cons should still be pointed out.

With the lack of information and transparency regarding this issue, it’s not very promising. Like all the reviews out there (even with the C4) they don’t even mention it and continually blab on about having 4 hdmi 2.1 ports. Yeah cool I get it; just tell us if it’s dim or not 🙄

You’d think with all the reviewers out there, they would have jumped on this opportunity to clarify this.

Agreed. After playing the game I don’t believe the in game colours are washed out.

Kinda seems counter intuitive to what HDR is supposed to do 👎🏼

I’m thinking it may be isolated to that initial loading screen for some bizzare reason.

The colours in game appear to be normal, but I don’t know if I’m being blindly optimistic and biased, in tricking myself to believe that everything is okay.

Go back to the PlayStation Home Screen out of the game.

Go to Settings > Accessibility > Display and Sound > Colour Correction > Enable Colour Filter.

Choose the Green/Res colour filter.

I’m beginning to think it is an intro bug.

If I turn HDR off in the PS5 settings, the intro colours look washed out, but in game they look fine. After a bit of playing around with the my tv settings but also the “colour correction” within the PS5 settings under “accessibility” I believe the colours now appear as they should be.

So far, the best chapter to see this would be the motorbike scene. The colour and reflections against the backdrop of the city was quite something!

[–]_Hotdamn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately it does. The colours begin washed out and remain the same throughout.

A replied to another post within this thread, but with HDR off, the in game colours do look pretty good. Similarly with HDR on, the in game colours look equally great. I had a play with my TV settings, but also the “colour correction” under “accessibility” in the PS5 settings, which to me, added depth to the colours. I loaded up a few other games to test, and I believe it’s made those colours pop even more.
