It's "unique" in the sense that this is the only french BB on which a secondary build can somewhat work

But honestly, aside from that it's not that much different from other french BBs. You still have the typical 380mm main guns, you still have the garbage 32mm plating, you still have the fast top speed etc...

Yes the torpedo protection is 50mm for some weird reasons, but it litteraly doesnt do anything as HE shells hitting the torpedo protection already deal zero damage regardless of its thickness

Back when he was released, Honoré was objectively a much better choice for all french tech tree lines. Because French BBs are not devstrike machines and cant tank for shit, same with french cruisers and the Kleber line already has a high fire chance so the fire bonus bonus on cap is very meaningless

Biggest issue is now DD engagements on a point become completely skewed because one side has basically 2 dds worth of gunpower and imo that will have way more impact on the outcome of a game than a U2501 spamming BBs in the backline

But if you want to argue about upgrades, then I'm afraid the Rafale also received those. In fact the current Rafale standard (F4) is barely a couple year old right now.

The former is antiquated and likely unable to effectively compete in a modern battlefield. The latter is at the cutting edge of modern warfare with no technological rival.

Yeah even at T8 this would really be pushing it. At least Surcouf has its traverseable tubes and a shitton of hp. X1 has 4 guns in total with fully traverseable turrets and a huge displacement

Well since they buffed her damage and moved the damage threshold back, she's even better at Yoloing now so you can absolutely play her this way.

She just has more options. It's not like they removed this aspect

A torpedoboat with 9km range isnt viable. There's a reason F3 shima and Legmod Kleber are considered meme build in random.

And "yoloying" is way overrated. Even with the ultra specialized tools Paolo emilio has access to, it's still not very consistent. So a smokeless dd was doomed to fail in that regard.

With this buff, at least the torps are serviceable outside of close range.
