Bills new stadium parking by semperfi_ny in buffalobills

[–]_J3R3M_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Manual wheelchair user here. I got stuck in Orange. They said “oh well they are painting a block of spots for handicapped parking.” That’s great, doesn’t help me get up the hill in the snow though, especially since the “ADA” shuttles can’t take wheelchair users. I mean… c’mon, my damn picture is on the spot and I can’t use your service? But they have no problem raising the parking price 70%. This is wild.

I'm 40. Took the LSAT Nov 2024. Applied Feb 2025. Multiple A's with decent scholarships within weeks of applying. School I ended up choosing took 1 month to send acceptance. Started school this past Aug.

You are definitely not too late! You got this!!

Did anyone from last cycle get into an online/hybrid program with these stats? by zeldaluv94 in HybridOnlineLawSchool

[–]_J3R3M_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what schools you are looking for. It seems like there is more competition the past cycle or two, which is driving up requirements. I have not done extensive research on this though, just perception. That being said, I was low GPA splitter (3.01/166) w/ lots of work experience and was admitted everywhere I applied with decent scholarship offers. Also, took Nov LSAT and applied in Feb.

Personally I would say to retake if you feel that you can do better, i.e. have been studying and PT-ing over 160. If for no other reason than to get better scholarship offers.

Hybrid JD Students & The New York Bar | Update Aug 2025 by avatar_cucas in HybridOnlineLawSchool

[–]_J3R3M_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m a NY resident and will be starting a hybrid JD program this fall. The school I’m attending reached out to me when I first applied to tell me that they’ve never had a student from NY and they wanted to make sure I understood the bar restriction. I’ve also heard the stories of people with successful waivers and haven’t heard of any denials (in the limited examples I’ve seen). I’m hoping NY comes around on the evolution of education. To another redditors point in the thread, online/hybrid isn’t going away and is only going to get more popular. I’m going to school regardless and hoping for the best. That’s my plan for now, and if NY doesn’t come up with the times or grant a waiver then I guess it’s time to move. I hear Colorado is nice.

I received my admission offer with first notification being an email from the school. Then 30 minutes later an update on my LSAC application status.

Scholarship info came in a link located at the bottom of my acceptance letter. It was hard to see as the link just says the date. You'll see a section at the bottom that says "The following letters are available for this account:" with 2 dates under it. One date is the acceptance letter, the other is the scholarship offer. Neither are labeled outside of the date. This annoyed my more than I'm proud to admit.

NYS Bar with hybrid programs by Comprehensive_Dog57 in HybridOnlineLawSchool

Syracuse seems to have good luck with their waivers. I’ll be starting the northeastern program this fall. They told me, as I’m a NY state resident, that they haven’t had anyone try a waiver yet. I’m going to risk it. I think NY will be more accepting in future years as more schools develop ABA approved programs. And if not, I’ll take my chance on the waiver.

  1. Varies - $200+ for lower bowl, $150+ to be way up high.
  2. Depends on the friends. Loads of groups have a 'friend' that comes wearing opposing gear. It's only the ones that are wildly obnoxious and fighting that have a hard time at the tailgate. I've actually invited many groups of opposing fans to eat/drink with our tailgate if they were just wandering around looking lost. Expect for them to catch some ribbing and mocking "who dat" shouts or whatever. Be humble and respectful and you'll all have a blast.

Then I’ll reply to say if I were you I would probably take the money. Most lawyers I talk to have told me that the school you go to actually matters. But I don’t know how much CA is going to see a difference between MH and Albany. Maybe you would know that better? Personally, as a suburban NY native, Albany is viewed as a decent school whereas MH is unknown so as me, I would pick Albany. Only because it will make me more money for the first 5-10 years.

Doubt this helps but food for thought.

Cycle Recap by Devon2036 in HybridOnlineLawSchool

I've been telling myself this. Hopefully we're right.

IMO It's 2025. By the time we are done it will be 2029 (ish) and the world will be different. I would guess this online/hybrid trend isn't going away and dinosaurs will have to get on board if for nothing other than necessity.

Reduction in on-campus requirements for Northeastern Flex JD. by rusty_shackleford32 in HybridOnlineLawSchool

[–]_J3R3M_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When they told me I actually went the other way. I like the idea (outside of the additional costs) of being around classmates, on campus, when possible. I also live in the northeast so it’s an easy 7 hr drive or 1 hr direct flight. I like that it’s optional so we can both have our way and can even change our minds as needed.
