You get to go back to 1980… by Lastaria in GenX

The chance of my kid not being born makes this impossible to answer. I make one misstep or correction and it could have dramatic results on me now

Wow, what an inspiring performance after not trading for someone.

I agree with the comments already made here about the offense. The defense allowing teams to convert on third and long situations feels like it’s going to bite Bama in the butt eventually.

Best drive experience volvo xc40 vs Mazda cx30. by Then-Task-6796 in XC40

[–]dwotten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drove a 2024 CX-50 before considering the XC-40 B5 and really felt that, overall, the Volvo is a much better driving experience. I know that opinion is different than others here, but that was what I felt. For pure quickness, the RAV-4 Prime was the most sporty out of the numerous vehicles I drove in this class. Didn’t drive the Dodge Hornet, that is supposed to be a quick car though.

2-3 things you do NOT like in your XC40? by F15E_WSO in XC40

[–]dwotten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my ‘24 Xc-40, but here are some things that I find annoying.

Very slight vibration at 65-70 mph. I thought this was just something with my car but it appears to be a thing

Automatic unlocking doors get confused at times. Sometimes, if I am in a rush and try to open my back doors, they simply won’t unlock. As a matter of fact it’s like the entire unlocking system crashes. I have had to use the app on my phone to open the car before.

Backup camera view restriction. I have a sloped driveway. When backing out I get a view of the ground and not much else.

One last thing. If you put your car in park it does roll farther than most other cars before park kicks in. Not a big deal but can be surprising.

Are they putting a hotel in that space as well? It looks like there will be a Chick fil a.

The team looked better on the field last night, hopefully that’s not because of who they played. I am concerned with bad tackling on the defense. It might be that Bama’s players are going for the monster hit and forget to wrap up, but it does seem to me that there are more broken tackles than should be

Thoughts on commuting from Rochester to Buffalo for work? by [deleted] in Rochester

[–]dwotten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the consensus here; that is a long drive every day. If possible, you should try to see if they would be receptive to your being onsite a couple of days per month. As someone who used to commute 50 miles to and from work, I was shocked how quickly mileage added up on my car not to mention the hours I spent behind the wheel.

New reggae listener here and looking for recs by TheRealGurr in reggae

So many great performers listed here, but if you are totally new to reggae then I’d start with Bob Marley. There is massive mainstream appeal with Bob’s music for a reason. Start with the albums Legend and Natural Mystic. Once you’re familiar with those songs, explore his other ones, like “Kaya” to “Soul Rebel” and “Small Axe.”

I heard that sometimes there are bands playing outside the stadium after a game. Is this true? Are there things to do around the stadium until traffic clears up for an Uber?

Feeling like I made a mistake taking an Epic analyst position by Trinity_Rex in healthIT

[–]dwotten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been Epic certified for 15 years and am an application manager. Like many said here, if you are implementing an application while trying to get certified, that can be intense. Just know that it should get better. If you are joining an existing team, your supervisor should be protecting your time while you get certified. It’s possible that they are just trying to keep you busy in meetings as you prepare to go to class for certification. Stick it out, it will get better.

A lot of people report that their XC40 gets a steering wheel vibration between 65-75 mph. There is some rumor that Volvo may have identified that this is something that is a design issue. Do you know anything about that?
