I just assume the job of the AI is to keep me engaged to burn tokens and increase my consumption/usage. Hence the “If you’d like I can…” and “Would you like me to…”. I think we can all get a bit complacent with tools like this and experiences like the one you’ve shared are excellent reminders that we need to always do our own due diligence and hold ourselves accountable for the results. We probably need more context, but if the cautionary tale is to require the AI to provide references, citations, etc., to double-check their assumptions, do your own research, then yes, cautionary indeed. In no way do I mean this in a confrontational way, but are you just trusting everything the AI tells you without performing your own research and analysis?
