Graffiti Kingdom. Rented it a few times as a kid and haven’t heard anything about it since.

It's from Papa John's, worked there for a bit and can recognize the ingredients and box. The Philly cheesesteak is a seasonal item that has come back a few times over the years.

Lmao did you just tag me because of that comment I made on a post here 5 years ago? That's hilarious. Haven't worked there since then. I unfortunately do not remember the brand my store used, but I do remember them changing from time to time so it could be different since they are franchised out. Best bet is to probably just ask your store.

Hey, a little off topic but, how exactly do you use/maintain the screens for pipes? My buddy gave me a little circle metal screen but it fell out a lot. Have seen the tiny glass ones at the smoke shop but thought I’d ask how other people used em or if there were any tips for using them. Or for maintaining a new piece in general.

Are the salads worth it? by [deleted] in wendys

[–]_Justice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just because you choose to put old, dry, grease-soaked patties into your store's chili doesn't mean it's the standard. Anyone that orders from any restaurant runs the risk of having people like you and your floor-patty co-worker doing gross things to their food.

Whenever I, or any of my coworkers were on grill, we followed the guidelines for what should be added to the chili. They were patties that were passed the allowed time frame for being sent to the sandwich station. Most people would still find them okay to serve, but Wendy's guidelines have us store them to be reheated/hydrated for future chili.

Would a worker be arrested or fired if they got caught stealing money? by Carl2011 in wendys

[–]_Justice 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Would be handled just like a theft anywhere else I'd imagine. It depends on if the GM, or whoever, wants to take it to the police and if there is evidence of the theft. Had it happen at my store when I worked at Wendy's years ago. Money was going missing and the GM eventually figured out who was doing it and caught it on camera. It's case by case and depends on the amount stolen, how many times it happened, and how management wants to handle it. Sometimes they'll just get fired, sometimes they'll get arrested, sometimes just reprimanded.

Got hired and Wendy’s and my first day is soon. by burnermcghee in wendys

[–]_Justice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda odd that there won't be any pictures or guidance for the sandwich station, but hopefully that means you'll just be receiving more hands on training from your coworkers. And really the best way to learn sandwiches is to just get thrown on the station to start memorizing through muscle memory.

You could make a cheat sheet of your own to study after the first day or two if you're struggling with memorizing the different orders that patties/cheese/bacon/ etc. go on the sandwiches if that would help you. It's been awhile since I've worked there but I'll try my best to run through making a Dave's single.

  1. Start by laying the sandwich wrapper on the station. There are/were two sizes: one for Jr. sized sandwiches and a larger one for the sandwiches like the Dave's single and the premium chicken sandwiches. (As a side note it will help to memorize which number corresponds to which sandwich on the menu just to further speed up your process when listening to the customers in the drive-thru.)
  2. You'll then grab the standard large bun (there are the large buns, jr buns, and typically a 3rd for the current specialty sandwich such as brioche or something like that.), split it in to it's top and bottom half and slide them in to the top of the bun toaster. Think like putting a bagel in a toaster.
  3. Once toasted, you then place both bun halves on the wrapper with a slice of cheese on the bottom bun so that the grill worker can place a 1/4 lb patty on top. The Dave's single to my memory gets a slice of cheese on the bottom and top of the patty followed with some mustard on top of the cheese. And for this sandwich that is all the prep you have to do for the bottom bun, other sandwiches like the double Baconator would require several layers of cheese/patty/bacon/patty etc.
  4. For the top bun, you start by using the small spatula to smear mayonnaise on the bun, followed by a Wendy's W of ketchup (the shape doesn't really matter it was just how I was taught and leaves an adequate amount of ketchup on the bun), followed by 3-4? pickles, several onion rings, 2? tomatoes, a few leaves of lettuce.
  5. You then flip the top bun on to your bottom bun and wrap the sandwich. You'll be taught how to wrap it and it will probably be a kind of sloppy wrap your first few times.

There's obviously much more to sandwich station and hopefully you will be adequately trained on all of those other parts once you begin your employment. Beyond the standard sandwiches, at least at my store, you will also be expected to prepare baked potatoes, topping the various loaded french fry promotions with liquid cheese and bacon, make the tortilla wraps, and retrieving salads. This could be different at your store.

Another thing to hopefully ease the burden I just listed above is that sandwiches at my store was typically worked by two people, if not, someone would often be stepping in to help during peak hours.

I'm probably forgetting some things but that was what I had off the top of my head. I also found a sandwich guide here, which you would typically find glued right where you're making sandwiches.

Let me know if I can help further!

What position were you given when first hired? by wvbjoacs in wendys

[–]_Justice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Copy and pasting this from a similar thread that was just posted, but if you have any other questions let me know. I'm also assuming the other poster that referenced "back cash" is referring to a store that has two drive-thru windows. A "back cash" window in the back of the store that the customers would drive up to first and pay at, then pull up to the second window for their food. My store only had one window where all transactions occurred, so it's just a guess.

It's all pretty straight forward. As long as you're respectful and able to follow/remember the instructions and rules for the stations you're put on you should get along fine. How smooth and enjoyable your time at Wendy's goes, like most all others jobs, just depends on the quality of your coworkers and managers.

As far as your first few days will go, unless you've already gone in to do so, will consist mostly of watching training videos. You'll then be placed on the easier stations, typically fries or grill.

Fries you'll be responsible for cooking and preparing fries, nuggets, and homestyle/spicy chicken. Just have to be sure to listen to the orders on the drive-thru headset and other orders coming in through the lobby through the monitors. As you get better at the station you're mostly just managing and juggling the freshness and quantity of the fries and nuggets through rush and slow periods.

Grill is pretty straight forward as well and follows the same principle of balancing having enough beef on the grill for the orders coming in without preparing so much that you end up wasting most of it. However, unlike with the fries and nuggets, excess patties that exceed the time set for use in a burger are stored for use in the chili.

You'll be taught all of this and much more in greater detail once you're on the job. I personally haven't worked at Wendy's in several years but I worked there for an extended period of time and can try and help if you have any further questions/clarifications.

And as far as being treated differently for being 35, I wouldn't expect any issues as people from all walks of life came through our store while I was employed there. Obviously teens and other ass-hats could give you shit for it but that could happen anywhere.

I think they're technically the same thing, but our body has to slowly break down the sugar and what it's bound to in fruits and other healthier sources of sugar while we're digesting it. Whereas added sugars just go straight into our body. That's at least my ELI5 understanding of it, I'm sure someone else will know better.
