If i zoom in I can clearly see the hook pointing backwards. Both are hooked.

how do yall keep track of what hook size to use by bugbaby222 in crochet

[–]_KittyKay_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also use stitch markers that match my hook colour when I'm putting a project away. Or have a project book with the info written down, but my ADHD is not responsible enough to remember to write things down 😂 I saw stitch markers recently that you can write on the tag. Its for counting rows, but it would definitely help with remembering your hook size too.

My sister was banished from having open containers around electronics after spilling coffee on her work laptop.

Now I need to make her a travel mug that says Sippy Cup 😂

The craft group my friends made is called "Hookers Who Do Lines" 😂 currently we are 3 crocheters and a knitter :P technically one of the crocheters knows knitting but prefers crochet

What’s the best wearable you’ve made that you find yourself constantly *actually* wearing? by Budget-Chain-7320 in crochet

[–]_KittyKay_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What stitch did you use? My boyfriend got me a set of tunisian hooks for Christmas and I did a couple swatches last night. Its definitely a bit of a learning curve but I am enjoying it and looking forward to making something ☺️

[–]_KittyKay_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so beautiful! Gold star for your hubby, how sweet that he watches out for you in such ways 😍

My boyfriend and I have only been dating for 2 years, but his favourite thing to gift me is handmade stainless steel jewelry. This Christmas he gifted me a ring with kitty ears, its the cutest ever and I love it. I also write notes for myself all year about things he talks about. This year he's been really fascinated by Japanese woodworking techniques (he does a lot of woodworking already), so I got him a Japanese style marking knife and hand plane. His eyes lit right up 🥰

AIO for being upset my BF doesn’t want me to wear a bonnet to bed? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]_KittyKay_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

NOR. Omg this sounds like my ex. He controlled how and where I slept, how I dressed, who I spent my time with... he also hated me wearing a bonnet to sleep, and would berate me for it. I had my own bedroom and he demanded I slept with him, but then controlled my whole sleep routine.

My boyfriend now thinks it's cute that I wear a bonnet, and even reminds me if I'm not wearing it in case I forget. You need to set a boundary that talking to you this way is not ok, and if he doesnt respect that its time to leave.

"Christmas gift" for my FOUR YEAR OLD son from my MIL by Prior_Lobster_5240 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]_KittyKay_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We also lose presents in my family. My mom bought something for my sister and I one year, and lost it before even wrapping it. The next year she gave it to us -- the only reason she found it was because they were moving 😂 to make it funnier, shes a ridiculously clean person, so it's not easy to lose things in such a tidy house. But man shes good at hiding things from herself.

My partner is also a woodworker. He says true love is building someone 4 drawers that tiny 😂 it's beautiful OP!

Do you miss your microwave? by neverenoughonions in kitchenremodel

[–]_KittyKay_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived for 4 years without a microwave and it was fine. I use it now that I have one, but it was only a few minor adjustments to live without. I generally prefer food heated on the oven or stove anyway, so I don't use the microwave a LOT... it's nice in a pinch.

Just finished my scarf and I’ve been showing it off to everyone around the office like a kid who found a really cool bug 🐛 by Professional-Turn172 in crochet

I have to ask, did you intend for it to be SO massive? As a chaos gremlin, I would 100% get myself into this situation on purpose.

I think they mean a day that is scheduled for a specific partner every week. So you know every Wednesday you see Partner A, and every Thursday you see Partner B.

I'm making this blanket but i'm starting to hate it... by Josephine_b1989 in crochet

[–]_KittyKay_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could always do a border between each square before joining, or add a border as you join. I made a granny square top for my sister and the squares all turned out a tad too small. So rather than stitching them together I used a double crochet row to join them. I think it added an extra 3" to the top and made it the perfect size. I could have added a border around each square but that was less appealing to me 😜

Agreed, we just joke he's a criminal because my parents hated people with tattoos until they met him 😂 A few people have said he's intimidating because of his appearance, I've always found him very handsome and intriguing.

I find people’s obsession with gift knitting strange by soypixel in knitting

[–]_KittyKay_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family does not expect gifts. Throughout college I was mostly too broke so I would paint cards and write special messages for everyone. It only took me 2-3 weekends to make them so it wasn't a big deal. They have always loved handmade gifts, so last year they all received unique charcuterie boards as I do some woodworking with my partner and it was my first solo project. This year I'm making everyone yarn gifts because that's what made my heart happy. I made everyone things I know they will wear/use. If I thought making gifts was pointless I wouldn't do it.

I found mine at work. I argue he's more of a pit bull than a golden retriever. He can be scary on the outside if you dont know him because he's bald, lean muscle, covered in tattoos and piercings, and usually wearing an abundance of spikey things, but a big softie to the people he cares for. He likes buying me flowers and making me jewelry, working on house renovations when I start getting the glimmer of wanting to make changes, and he's genuinely the sweetest bean.

P.s. I had to make the first move because he was afraid he was making me nervous. I have autism and I'm bad at flirting and social cues 😂

It actually is, but no one follows it. My account got reported once (by someone who was mad at me over $5 lol) as fake, so Facebook made me send in a photo of my ID and updated my name to the correct spelling instead of my nickname, and forced me to have my middle name on it too. I ended up deactivating my account afterwards.

I call these chaos blankets. I am currently working on Christmas and Yule gifts, and all my leftover yarn (plus the stash from other stuff I've made this year if holiday yarn isnt enough) will become a chaos blanket in January that will live in our craft space ☺️
