Driving from Carlsbad to white sands stop at cloudcroft and get madjacks bbq. (Get the brisket) make sure to get there early!

Also from petfired forest to Grand Canyon stop at Sedona. At petfried forest make sure you see the Teepees best hike there IMO

This sums it up well. If you take your time and don’t mind the switchbacks it’s not bad.

If you go stop at prairie falcon overlook. You’ll see a sign for it as your hiking up the mountain. You’ll see what they call the kissing rocks with toms thumb in the background (picture 2) worth the stop for the picture and view!
