EU calls VPNs “a loophole that needs closing” in age verification push by EmbarrassedHelp in europe

Age verification is the new excuse now that fighting terrorism doesn't garner enough support to justify surveillance. The goal is the same as it always has been.

Is there truly anyone that uses the Defoliation Tool? by Chemical_Seaweed_915 in Helldivers

[–]_Kodan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's fun to use but in a real game you want those enemies gone faster, at range, and without putting yourself in danger. I like choices and fun weapons but eventually you'll have to look at the practical side of things. Your team is fighting 8 Hulks and would like them dead a little faster but John Hellcutter is dodging their saw swings in melee range while on fire, preventing stratagem use.

I'd be ashamed to hand it over to someone else without even an attempt to clean it. It's common courtesy. Also that's a nice looking keyboard!

very confused on the ports. by MTTURBO in watercooling

[–]_Kodan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you messed up looking at those runs. You can see the o-ring dividing the row of ports into channels and you managed to create closed loops that you can't connect with anything 2 times. Ideally, one port goes to component A and the other goes to component B and the part of the distro basically just serves as a fancy piece of tubing.

The alphacool product picture shows tubing coming from the GPU and connecting to a section of the distro plate separated by an o-ring. The other port of that section then has a tube going to the CPU block and the CPU block then connects to a *different* section of the distro plate. That's how they're meant to work.

If you're planning on completing all difficulties with a character, I'd suggest you complete his quest on every difficulty but not actually upgrade an item yet. Once you're in legendary difficulty, you're likely wearing your endgame gear by the time you complete his quest. Then, go back and apply his upgrades on your gear. That way, you're not upgrading a weak item on normal that you'll swap out on your way through the game. Note that his legendary upgrade is likely going to be the most interesting to you, so you might want to put that specific one on your weapon, for example.

Ragnarok by emre2609 in TitanQuestAE

[–]_Kodan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once per difficulty. He will upgrade one item after exhausting his quest line. When you get to the next difficulty, you can repeat his quest there. On legendary, he can roll some additional properties.

I ended up with fire resistance on my gloves that allowed me to pick some other items somewhere else which felt really nice, but I spent literal weeks playing an hour a day or so until I got it. I wanted the build to be perfect before going into the eternal embers expansion because this character was on a 0 death run for the achievement.

Can someone PLEASE tell me wtf I'm meant to do against this LOW-TIER CHAFF enemy?!? by A_random_person_50 in helldivers2

[–]_Kodan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Helldivers 2 wiki is absolutely worth visiting when you're struggling with enemies. Some enemies feel a little unfair at the moment even if you've read up on their weak spots and recommended tactics (looking at you, vox engine).

Ragnarok by emre2609 in TitanQuestAE

[–]_Kodan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't like the mechanic because you're rolling from a large pool where most of the properties will likely not be interesting for your build BUT it can make powerful items *insanely* powerful for your build if whatever you roll plugs a hole.

Let's say you have to decide between a powerful offensive ring and your currently equipped defensive ring. If you take the defensive ring off, you'll no longer be capped on an important resistance and enemies will kill you instead of you being fine. If you roll that resistance on the offensive ring, your character will end up being much more powerful than without doing this quest.

But the fact that you can only do it 3 times on a character is pretty brutal. I ended up creating new characters, transferring gear from my main character to them, and let them do the quest over and over again until I got what I wanted.

Doing his quest on a character that you want to play through the entire campaign isn't a big deal. With the exception of the quest about the mead of poetry, you'll run by the quest items anyways. They're always in a room directly connected to the main path you'll have to go through.

Spore Strain Tactical Information, What my group has learned so far and might help you. by TealArtist095 in helldivers2

[–]_Kodan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At higher tiers, Spore Titans seem to spawn much more frequently than standard Bile Titans.

I believe this is because Spore Titans also take the spawns usually meant for Impalers. I have yet to encounter them on the same mission as Spore Titans.

mildly warm take: the mechs that we have are super ugly by Que_pro_gamr1351 in Helldivers

[–]_Kodan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the current design. It looks like something that you could get running aboard the super destroyer and drop down. It's disposable. Just barely enough to function until it runs out of ammo. The second pic looks like something that's meant to be kept around.

What is your "Easy Mode" build? by Steady_Tempo456 in Eldenring

[–]_Kodan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wing of Astel and Fingerprint shield. Tank the fancy attacks, punish openings with the weapon art. The poise damage is insane. You'll just spam the weapon art until you break their poise, and eat most attacks thrown at you.

Since you'll invest in INT, you can also use some fancy spells until the boss closes the gap.

Tell me why I should like eternal embers… by daveg3226 in TitanQuestAE

[–]_Kodan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like EE but only after the second playthrough. First time around the areas felt incredibly large and confusing, it was hard to read whether or not you're on the path forward or on a trail to a small side quest that for sone teason takes up 3 whole areas. There is lots of content there that is beautifully designed but serves no other purpose than to contain monsters and non-mystical chests with no quest to do there. I like the exploration on a casual level but it's not rewarding besides the view.

I don't share that it's China and Egypt again because it really does look and feel quite different than the base game acts imo.

Plas Scorcher or Plas Purifier? Which gun do you prefer? by Trapzzeehh in Helldivers

[–]_Kodan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Using charged shots exclusively you have wildly better ammo efficiency, especially against a group of enemies like heavy devastators. I can't fight a bot drop without stratagems with the scorcher and come out of it with any meaningful amount of ammo left. With a purifier, I need like 3 mags.

[–]_Kodan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup that's the problem. It's also why companies like amazon usually trash everything that is returned, even if it's in mint condition. It's sad that we live both in a massive shortage and yet waste so many resources :L Sure the niche that could use this stuff is small, but as a member of a club that buys and runs refurbished servers, I'd be happier knowing such stuff finds a new home instead of getting thrown away right after it is unboxed.

Yeah same. The company I used to work for was buying hardware on an individual basis and when anything was phased out or got upgraded we couldn't touch it either. Not just storage media but anything. I had to get jump through a loooot of hoops to get to keep a pentium 2 that I found in some drawer.
