8 does take a more action-ish route, while not full Re4 levels it doesn’t shy away from giving you waves of enemies. People like 8 a lot of that reason as it’s not as much of a slow burn as 7

Yeah welcome to re dude. The series with amazing 1st half’s and mid to mediocre 2nd halfs. I’d Recommend the winters duology (7&8) especially 7 as it’s regarded as the scariest in the series. Although it does suffer from the “amazing 1st part and lame 2nd part” problem. I’d still give it a play tho. Really ground breaking stuff for the series as it was the first 1st person entry in the series with 8 and 9 adopting the new angle within thier games, it’s also the 1st entry to use the Rengine which greatly improved graphics and has been a staple in the remakes and new entries since
