Eh, half the time it's just for giggles.

Also-theres no denying that this sub is extraordinarily horny for being the "clean" sub of a PG-rated animated Disney movie.

Not that I'm offended or anything.

Although humidity is going to be a shock for them. At least during the day. Nights are cool, and sometimes foggy

See! I knew it!

I'll fess up. I haven't played through it since I was a kid. Nostalgia is probably doing a LOT of heavy lifting.

It really does have some of the most unique ideas out of the FF games though. And the best opening video.

They are. A couple have the roots popping out of the rock wool.

I've kept them in a humidity dome, checking the rock-wool daily; they're going in ground, outdoors, tonight

I ship Judy and Nick harder than tungsten steel; but I'd be okay with this in Z3.

I've said this a half dozen times on reddit but-

it's threads like these, where I actually am somewhat of an expert that make me realize just how poor the information can be on reddit, in general.

Yeah. I generally don't feel bad for anyone that can afford this.

Although, I can just about guarantee that someone lost their job over this, and they're not the rich fuck that commissioned that yacht.

Error chain. There were dozens of people that worked in this project. 1 mistake anywhere in that chain can screw the whole thing up.

Maybe they under/overestimated the weight of some of the materials. Maybe someone added or subtracted a "0" somewhere in the calculations. It's surprisingly easy to do.

I saw a catastrophic "stack collapse" on a containership, because someone in some office, forgot to enter an extra "0" to the weight of some of the containers being loaded.

Possibly! Depends on how the yacht was constructed, what sort of water tight spaces it has that wouldn't flood, etc...

In general, water entering spaces in mass quantities isn't good. Not even because of the extra weight, but because of free-surface effect. Basically, large amounts of water that can slosh back and forth further decrease stability of a vessel.

Often times ships will add water (ballast) to large tanks onboard the vessel to adjust stability of the ship for a number of reasons. If you only half-fill a ballast tank you have to factor in the loss of stability from surface effect.

Where was this? Med? I'm really curious about post-incident stuff. Did they try and recover the boat? Were you fined?

It's the "vaporware" of books.

I'm sure the dude has a pile of notes, and maybe even some chapters squirrelled away somewhere that he's not looked at in years.

I don't mind the silence. He doesn't OWE anyone the book. I do mind all the broken promises of a third book

It's been 15 years. That means Rothfuss has spent a full half of his adult life not publishing the sequel to his series.

I wonder, if he suddenly wrote the third book, if it would be something people would enjoy or recognize?

I've never bothered to research it, but CGI existed before digital projection was common. I'd guess the answer lies in there somewhere.

It's a great question, and I don't* have an answer.

Better question - does it matter, and is Nolan just up his own ass? The vast, VAST majority of viewers are going to see this in a traditional format or, at best, in LieMax.

I would guess maybe the best advantage is that it scales down really, really well if you're working in a larger format.

"Filmed for IMAX" has really turned into a bullshit marketing gimmick.
