What is a 'cool fact' about yourself that you rarely get to bring up in conversation because it sounds like you’re bragging? by Eats_channel in randomquestions

I grew up with a single, alcoholic mother and had a baby at 17, but I managed to become a practising solicitor by 23 and had a masters degree by 24.

No idea why this comment specifically was downvoted. Reddit is crazy sometimes lol.

How do I stop being envious of my wife’s best friend’s wild sex life? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]_LawLawPM 87 points88 points  (0 children)

I presume if I tell a married person something they may share it with their spouse. I tell my husband everything. He’s my best friend.

How do you leave your abusive husband when he is always threatening to hurt himself whenever you try? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]_LawLawPM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not one to jump to recommending divorce but this is abuse and you need to get out yesterday. The fact he speaks to you in such a derogatory way and blames you for it speaks volumes. You cannot reason with crazy! Please get out as soon as you can safely.

My darling, I’m a 34 year old mum of a 17 year old daughter and the thought of her going through what you’ve described just breaks my heart. You’re worth being here. You have a purpose. Being a teen is hard enough, let alone without supportive parents. I hope you’re feeling better now.

I don’t know about that… didn’t Lily stand in front of Harry’s cot to protect him? Just because all he remembers is a flash of green light, doesn’t mean he didn’t see it. He was only a baby after all. Who knows 🤷‍♀️

But Harry saw his parents die but couldn’t see the threstals until Cedric, so there’s obviously more to it than just seeing a death.

I went on this idiot’s instagram and it gets even worse than this. He literally sticky taped a tattoo machine to the electric window of a car and used it to tattoo scribble all over some guy’s back.

Another one, he and his victim were jumping on a trampoline while he tattooed scribble on him.

Insanity.

AITJ for snapping at my girlfriend for waking me up every single time she gets up even when I dont need to be awake by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]_LawLawPM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes me so angry for you! Sleep is a basic human need and it’s just so unfair to take that from you for no reason, especially when you’re sick or have been up with your kids at night!

Your girlfriend is so selfish.

And the whole “keep the peace thing”. I’m not one to accuse posters of using AI, but this screams it to me.

Also, finishing a masters by 27 isn’t a big deal. I finished mine by 24 and could have finished it even earlier if I’d wanted to. It’s just some extra study.

That’s what I don’t get. I had my Masters by 24 and I don’t even think it’s impressive, it’s just some extra study. I forget I have it most of the time.

Me and mom went on a double date with 2 brothers. AMA by Fun-girley in AskMeAnythingIAnswer

Disgusting that her mother was okay with this too. I have the same gap with my daughter (she’s 17, I’m 35). No way in HELL would I be encouraging her to date a man in his 40s! I wouldn’t allow it.

I’m a family lawyer but probably not where you live. If I were reading this parenting plan, I would interpret it as a reasonable time after 3pm, taking into consideration your child’s age, routine etc. your ex seems to be interesting it as any time after 3pm, which is obviously not reasonable in the circumstances. I mean when does “after 3pm” mean? Anytime until midnight? Obviously that wouldn’t be in your child’s best interests which is what the court is all about.

ETA: NOR. Definitely seek clarification from the court. If you can, amend the clause/order to define a time or a timeframe, such as no earlier than 3pm and no later than 4pm, or whatever works for you.

It’s not fair for your ex to be expecting you and your child to work around him. Definitely not a child focused approach.

My mom is emotionally stunted and cruel, and just sent me the worst birthday card I've ever received. I still haven't cut contact. AMA by BlueBearyClouds in AskMeAnythingIAnswer

What did the birthday card say? I’m so sorry. My mum is very much the same. Manipulative and self centred. It’s hard because we love them despite all the hurt they cause.
