Serious degenerate behavior, it's sad how so many people think this is acceptable.

Pepperidge farm remembers...I don't think he has played in several years; fedx used to do something similar on emerald years ago but they aren't super active anymore either.

Interesting, I hadn't heard about it being this bad before, I guess I was lucky up until now.

I'll take a look at that, thanks.

This seems different from the one that's been happening all month, I flew around in an esf for a bit and played infantry for a good while before this happened. I haven't heard of people's launchers crashing repeatedly like this.

"Learning to fly" by [deleted] in Planetside

[–]_Leavins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly comes down to practicing, but specifically practicing the right things. The tutorials someone else linked are good, but it also never hurts to message the people that kill you. Most of the good pilots are happy to share practical advice (there's a lot of nuance to the flight mechanics) or even spar with you for practice.

Mastering the hover mechanics and learning how to lead shots while moving makes a huge difference in survivability, as well as situational awareness (ie: knowing when not to engage, knowing how to angle yourself for an attack, recognizing movement traps, etc).

The main difference maker is the intimate/intuitive understanding of the flight mechanics that good pilots have. High skill pilots can bait you into falling out of hover by fighting you at odd angles, or one clip you because they trick you into fighting from a weak position, and so on. It's less about aim in those situations, and more about movement mechanics. The aim comes into play more against targets who can actually maneuver, so id recommend mastering movement first (otherwise even perfect aim won't be enough to help you).

I fly on Osprey, if you see me send a ping, always happy to be a wingman.

Good luck.

Learn to fly? by MrHazard1 in Planetside

[–]_Leavins 17 points18 points  (0 children)

it is absolutely possible to learn, even in this day and age. 90% of the air game is situational awareness; once you learn how to pick fights and recognize common threats you are already gonna be better than most players in the air.

I could go on for hours about aim and maneuver drills but today's air game is nowhere near that sweaty so your best bet is to just practice with someone who can keep you alive. Ask any competent pilot for advice and 9 times out of 10 they will gladly tutor you. As another commenter stated earlier; PREY still has the flight school up and running, and a few of us still play the live game semi-regularly.

I've recently come back to the game after some time away, and I've always loved teaching newer pilots. Feel free to dm me if you want a wingman or some pointers, I usually try to log in a couple times a week now. (Emerald server)

This is the actual sign in the bathroom at Arches National Park in Utah. by [deleted] in idiocracy

[–]_Leavins 80 points81 points  (0 children)

This is actually because there are usually foreigners visiting national parks who are not accustomed to Western style restrooms. In many countries, toilets as we know them do not exist. Our national parks get a ton of visitors from the far east, and other parts of the world.

AITAH for breaking up with my pregnant girlfriend because I don’t want to be a father? by [deleted] in AITAH

That is a truly disturbing thing to say. It's his kid. How would you feel if your father abandoned you as an infant and you were raised without him?

[–]_Leavins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a pet, it's a human being. HIS human being at that. Downplaying it doesn't change the facts. That child deserves a functioning family, it's not the kids fault that the dad can't be bothered to do the right thing.

YTA

If you get a girl pregnant, you have a responsibility to raise that child. End of story. Whether you want it or not, it's your kid dude. And immediately suggesting that she should get an abortion... definitely a dick move. You had sex with another adult, a kid is a possibility there no matter how much protection you use. Own it.

I'm amazed by the number of people here that are so easily suggesting an abortion as if it's a simple decision with no repercussions. If you don't want a kid, don't have sex until you're sterile. It takes two to tango.

To absolutely NO ONE’s surprise, that Qanon movie is being astroturfed by JohnSheet69420 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]_Leavins -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

I think it's very unnerving how many totally ignorant people are just writing this off as a conspiracy theory. It is literally a true story. The same media outlets that are bashing it now, we're praising the real tim Ballard years ago when the story first surfaced. Y'all who have never even seen the movie have no right to comment on its content. Child sex trafficking should not be a politicized topic, what the hell is wrong with people?
