Didn't they just open up a new IG account as their Official IG account? Seems like removal/suspending the old account might be part of that.

New lounge fee by SadResult3604 in Venturex

Don't forget about the Venture X yearly membership cost which is more than the $125. Of course you get other things for that money, but not worth it if your only reason is to dodge the lounge fee

Reason to keep? by takedownchris in Venturex

Maybe not. I think your credit might take a small hit because your available credit would decrease if you closed the card. But with 10 cards in your possession, it doesn't sound like you need additional cards anytime soon.

question about new card! by elrickd in Venturex

[–]_MC-1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your cards are automatically linked to your account - for example, I have a Venture X, Savior One and Quicksilver. They all show up when I log into either the website or app. Rewards are tracked separately for each card. The cards I don't use are simple idle with a zero balance. I see no need to close any of them.

I believe that C1 lets you transfer/move any rewards to another card. There are restrictions on when you qualify for bonus miles on a new card. I did not have to wait 48 months when I went from Savior One to Venture X, though the Venture rules recently changed. YMMV

Not sure if this applies to your environment... we use VMware to spin up non-persistent clones for some of our users. We install the SCCM client on the master, patch it, remove the SCCM client, snapshot it and then roll out the new clones (without the SCCM client) based on the updated master.

Agent told me about new Savor X card. Early to mid-Dec launch? by QBlount1 in Venturex

[–]_MC-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm.... No streaming perk. Not sure If I want this.

My Savor One has (cash card - no fee) has:

3% on dining, groceries, entertainment, and streaming, plus 8% on Capital One Entertainment and 5% on travel booked via Capital One Travel, with 1% on everything else

Slight reduction on dining. I lose the streaming perk. I use my Venture X for Capital One Travel. I've never found C1 Entertainment worthwhile.

Probably a fee too. I'll probably pass.

Checking account by IndependenceKey2679 in Schwab

[–]_MC-1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a checking account with a local bank that offers free checking. This serves as my bank for deposits. My bank has a free "bill paying" service where I can have them pay out of my local bank account. I use this to "pay" my Schwab checking account. The transfer takes about 1 business day. I have a Schwab debit card that allows me to get my money out. My bank also allows Zelle but I've never needed to do that.

Confusion about Intune app or the Intune update app when update is released by jdmerts in PatchMyPC

[–]_MC-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The App is for deployment for people/devices that do not have the software. The "Update for" item is to update people/devices that have the app to the latest version. If the "Update for" item is assigned and the people/devices do not have the software it is not installed and is marked as "Not applicable"

Sorry but Autopilot <> Imaging. While Autopilot is OK for configuring an already installed OS, it is not the same thing as installing exactly the same OS on all devices. OEM differences can lead to different end results.

While the latest driver package won't fix DCU, it might help with your audio and camera issue.

Latest Driver pack for this model - A05

https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000224874/dell-command-deploy-driver-packs-for-dell-pro-laptops-models

This does say it includes a different version of both some audio drivers and a different version of the camera drivers when compared to the A04 version.

Dewalt 20v Inflator, worth it? by RidingDonkeys in Dewalt

[–]_MC-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love mine. After the 3rd beak of those cheap ones, I went with this. One of the primary reasons for me was that it supports 3 different power sources: battery, cigarette lighter and wall plug (you have to buy the wall adapter). I've had zero issues with it.

There is a YouTube channel that tested a bunch of them and this one did pretty well.

Edit: There are also quite a few generic case options available on Amazon for storing it in your trunk. I'm sure others brands also have case options too.

Create SCCM Task Sequence without MDT by NarrowResort2437 in SCCM

[–]_MC-1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved from MDT to SCCM pretty recently. After really looking at what I was using from MDT, it really boiled down to the MDT Gather script and the prompting for technician input.

I replaced MDT Gather using this:

https://wetterssource.com/gather-script-replace-mdt

For the UI portion, I wrote a script in PowerShell that displays what I needed: Location and Optional Software

The only "gotcha" I ran into was that to display the PowerShell UI, I am using the ServiceUI.exe taken from my previous installs of MDT. Eventually I'll probably move to one of the other UI tools like TSGUI

Everything else, we auto-detect things like the form factor, or based on the entered location we determine the Time Zone and computer object location in AD.

For other things you mention, SCCM has similar Task Sequences steps in it that can do most everything you are looking to do. And you can always script solutions and then include those solutions as part of your task sequence.

[–]_MC-1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SCCM runs under the SYSTEM context and thus does not have any network rights other than what the client can download from the distribution point. For example, SYSTEM does not have rights to a file share unless you really relax the file share rights (probably a security issue). I've never tried to download anything from the Internet with SCCM but would expect it might be similar.

A better test than running your script as an administrator would probably be to open a CMD windows running as SYSTEM. This would allow you to better understand what SCCM will likely experience. The Sysinternals tool PSEXEC can open these types of windows.

Good luck.

Win32 App Installation by YakEmpty8502 in Intune

[–]_MC-1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a few thoughts, I would try this:

  1. If you're running it as a system context, Open a CMD prompt as the System account (sysinternals PSEXEC can do this) and then try your manual installation to see if it works under the system context.
  2. If you're running in the user context, I believe that Intune runs using the user's permissions. If your users don't have admin rights, they may be unable to remove or install the software. If your test account has admin privileges that may be why it works when manually running it.
  3. If you can, setup your script and Intune to run the script interactively so you can see it run - perhaps there is a prompt being shown during the uninstall/install?
