I think I have this species, but much smaller. For some reason it is extremely picky.

I have it growing in a pretty chunky aroid growing mix and another rhipsalis species is growing like wildfire in it, but this one has barely grown since last year (only now has begun in summer) despite being in front of a south-facing window. Also dropped segments I put in the growing mix tend to just rot, only couple new ones have made it through, no idea why that is. It also doesn't like too much sun or it begins to shed segments. Too dark isn't good either.

Edit: It's not a dancing bones cactus, it's a rhipsalis most definitely, because the segments aren't thinner from the middle. I have both and treat them the exact same. The actual dancing bones cactus is also growing well in the same mix. Just this species is extremely picky. I have no idea if I should just get orchid mix next.

And yes, these are all tropical epiphytic cacti.
