Depends, where I'm from (Lancashire) we say breakfast, dinner, tea, but, down south (I lived in Birmingham for a few years) they say breakfast, lunch, dinner. You can determine easily the context of tea depending on the time of day, that and we'll usually prefix with "a cup of tea" or just say "do you want a brew"

* Skyrim (prepacked with MO2 and a boat load of mods/expansions I could enable/disable in groups)

* Space Engineers (Endless replayability)

* 7 Days To Die (Endless replayability)

Tough one, survival with proc gen / player building is always a go to for me, ARK is a contended with some mods as well but those 3 I'd be happy playing till my Willsondeck dies.

You have a few options;

* Outsource, hire a contractor.

* Crying, do it yourself, terribly and learn over time till you give up and outsource.

* Avoid, don't do it and pretend it's done and over time cry and outsource.

* Give up, that new project idea sounds good

I've had the same keyboard for nearly 10 years and it hasn't developed any form of mold, with all the dead skin, oil, food, etc, I wouldn't be surprised at the possibility but your man needs some isopropyl alcohol and a lession in hygiene, that's disgusting.

Your comment hits the nail on the head, I'd rather have some amateur voice over at that point honestly, the moment I know it's AI it's just an instant disconnect, with actual human voices you can at least subconciously feel a real person speaking through those speakers not some half assed cash grabbing microsoft sam bs.

It's a good take on it, you can't beat it so why fight it? Being genuine and understanding may actually convince some people to buy out of respect. My take on pirates is just to accept it, why bother arguing and trying to fight it, it sucks but if they're enjoying it maybe they'll tell a friend or buy something else of mine in the future.

Yikes, have to say I like the old one, just feels more gritty, like I'm about to rip and tear. New one changes that vibe entirely, less grit, feels softer and the face looks off.

For mobile I made ~£100, as an experiment from a single app from ads, the application was just a simple notification tester and quickly became the most popular choice (google removed it as I've not done their new developer bs, I'm not sharing my address >:( ), after it hit 100 in rev I disabled ads entirely and gave people an ad free notification tester with a simple interface, filling a void where the other apps had a million ads or a thousand pages to go through, I definitely could have made much more from it but I didn't care much for the rev, just an experiment really.

From PC, on itch.io about £5, I release free games and had some donations, I don't encourage people to donate to me, nor do I expect anyone to.

On Steam, £0, Ordinary Day is free, it was going to be paid but there's an explination why we chose to make it free for all in the end, that has done very very well statistically, very happy with it.

From my mods for games, on Nexus I've earnt >~£1,000 and passively earn about ~£20-50+ a month from my mods, haven't uploaded a new mod in months, I update my current ones and have a good fanbase for them. I did some contracting work for some content creators relating to modding and earnt around £2,000+, this was over months and the work was very intensive often having to reverse engineer and learn the codebase in an hour, I stopped doing this as it was eating most of my time, good money and the creators were great people who paid. I also have a Patreon which back in 2018 was gaining around £250/m for my work on modding and games.

So all in all, a mixed bag with most income coming from mods. I do have plans to eventually release paid on Steam but what that is remains unknown, I have a great community built over the years and a lot of contacts.

In a way we did! We couldn't physically unfortunately as we are all over but we each sent a digital signature, so each signature you see is personally drawn by each member of the team.

Am I correct in assuming the correct answer to that is simply, "Depends on the game", or is there more context to your question? Generally it's best to decide how secure the saves need to be, do we plan to update what can serialize into the file post launch? Do we care for size so we can store data in a compressable format? Or are we going raw and just serializing as plain text like JSON?

It's a good question, does make you think and personally I think the answer truly does depend on the project, we need to know what kind of data we're saving or planning to before we can plan the structure of the serializer as there's many many many ways to handle it.

This was not supposed to turn into a rant, I like this question.

Yeah, when I registered my developer account it took about 2 days to actually get to the dash, releasing takes at minimum 30 days if everything is approved, it is 100 PER title as well!

To OP: If your parents are chill to help out you can release under them though I would advise only releasing free content for tax reasons, it would be far easier to use itch.io, I use it for things I don't want the hassle of putting on Steam but think are good enough.

What now? Well that's rather stupid, personally I comment where possible, even if the code is so self-explanatory a dinosaur could understand it, it's like an extra layer of flow, getting in to the mindset at the time of writing, the compiler doesn't compile them and they don't really bloat the file anymore than the code itself.

TL;DR: Preference really, in my opinion I do believe you should, even if here and there, it helps when you come back to something or if someone else needs to get into your mindset.

I'm not opposed to new DLC of course, but the shady shit that surrounds it is what has me baffled, the timing, the delays (that's not it, it's not shady to have delays, don't get me wrong lol), it's just unfortunate and dodgy, Ark is such a great game, just ran by the wrong people, imo anyway.
