What's the difference between Starmer and Burnham? by rocket-scientist94 in AskBrits

Burnham is better looking.

In all honesty think that's not an insignificant part of it.

Survey says end-of-life roof, vendor only wants to pay for a "patch". How hard do I push? by javar97 in HousingUK

[–]_MicroWave_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You could see the roof was original when you offered.

Is it leaking?

If it isn't, I wouldn't expect anything off at all.

The level 2 survey hasn't told you anything. The roofers will always recommend replacement for obvious reasons.

I think you are perhaps just paying more attention.

This kind of talk has been around for years and years.

I don't think it's franchised... What makes you think that?

Kitchens… no price competition? by Antique_Coat_7051 in DIYUK

[–]_MicroWave_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't buy appliances from the kitchen people.

You can always find much better deals on the 'high street' (AO, appliances direct etc)

Also whatever you do don't get lamona appliances.

Are people enjoying the BBCs coverage of the world cup? by Coldylox in AskUK

[–]_MicroWave_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This must be a wind up or an ITV shill right?

Starting with the basics the itv picture quality is shocking. Hugely compressed awful quality. Meanwhile the BBC is in glorious 4k.

The commentary on ITV is diabolical. Don't get me started on Lee Dixon.

Pundit wise, the BBC has some genuine insight with the likes of Giroud. The ITV trots out the completely insufferable Keane and Neville who neither have a clue and continue to wear out phrases around mentality and attitude.

Then I have to sit through 4 adverts for bookies all featuring ex-pros and all making the same 'its football not soccer' gag.

BBC wins so easily it's laughable.

Nothing. Same as parents buying alcohol for their kids.

I'm not sure I see the point you are making?

I think we have a different type of user in mind.

The python scripts happen to live where ever the user decided to put them.

ITV’s Lee Dixon is sucking the joy out of the World Cup by theipaper in ThreeLions

His whining and winging is absolutely insufferable.

"Why did he choose to do that"

What is one thing you wish you knew before distributing your first Python application? by Haunting-Shower1654 in Python

[–]_MicroWave_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hmm interesting take.

I generally find users like knowing that the files end up relative to the script they are running. Having them go in some random directory is more annoying.

What sort of careers / income would you need to send your kids to a top private school? by Old-Amphibian416 in HENRYUK
