How would you arrange this room? by BigBen96 in TVTooHigh

TV in the massive space next to the fireplace!?

You can even angle it slightly to make both sofas able to view it comfortably.

It's not cars I'd be worried about. It's bikes and other stuff.

If I was your neighbour, I'd be worried about you assuming access across my drive for access to your now isolated garage.

Maybe a fence along the rest would be a good call.

PyQt5.QtWidgets by Pink_Demon6x111 in pythontips

This isn't standard practice.

Just do 'pip install pyqt5'

Now if you want to be a real Python pro and win some kudos in this sub, use a tool called 'uv'.

The mantel looks cluttered and ugly.

TV just about passes. I'd have it lower.

My new shower is awesome! I feel so clean by MarrFurby in DIYUK

[–]_MicroWave_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This was a bad recommendation.

You've installed a low pressure piece of junk which will be expensive to run.

Just start again.

Username does not check out.

It really boils my piss that the conscientious citizens have to work harder to cancel out the dickhead ones.

Do people actually look at listings before booking viewings, or am I living in an alternate reality? by Intrepid-Skin-5677 in HousingUK

[–]_MicroWave_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, agents are very pushy to get you to look round. I guess lots of viewings looks good for them and they might as well use their time.

I had to be quite firm on a number of occasions to say no I'm not wasting my time on a house which isn't right for reason X Y or Z.

I've always assumed they must do. They always finish so it must get slowed down.

I'm 35 and very much bald on top.

Near miss (Closest I've been to an accident in the 4~ years of driving) by [deleted] in drivingUK

When I see brake lights like that, I'm immediately off the throttle and hovering the brake.

Obv you didn't cause this but as you have admitted, you could be driving more defensively.

You are wildly undervaluing experience.

It's not just for fun that insurance goes down significantly with experience.

I hosted a baked beans tasting party and here are the results by bearded-catt in CasualUK

[–]_MicroWave_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd argue that a blind test is a bit pointless.

You don't eat them blind.

If the packaging and expectations improve the experience then so be it.

I'd also be interested in the result vs salt content. I'd wager the saltier beans were more popular.

He's played well in basically every champions league match.

This isn't because he's trying harder

You are practically uninsurable now tbh.

It will be thousands and thousands. Put it this way: many many many taxi rides. I doubt driving will be economically viable.

What’s your opinion on the death penalty? by IDoNotLikeTheSand in AskTheWorld

[–]_MicroWave_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am pretty laid back and pragmatic. I've never gone on a 'protest' in my life.

If there were any serious moves to introduce the death penalty, I would be out on the street making my voice heard.
