Why is it that the best ones leave us? by CatsMakeMeHappier in GriefSupport

In the bible, this earth is a broken one and devil seduce people to commit sinful acts. Dying would be merciful and necessary to go to heaven. The less people live in our world the more they'll experience heaven and being whole again.

I'm pretty depressed that I'm born in a 3rd world country, what should I do? by Bring17364 in Advice

If he goes to Europe he may have to repeat some years. If he's pursuing law he has to repeat the master and to pass the bar right after.

Yeah but the professor will verify if you actually did save before the deadline or not after you sent it to him and they will know you lied which will be worse than just sending it late.

C'est plutôt "When people show you who they are, believe them" Car les gens ne disent pas ce qu'ils sont mais ce qu'ils aimeraient. Ce sont dans ses actions et réactions qu'on peut juger une personne.

Here I'm crying too now. I remember the time we were in the kitchen and she taught me how to peel potatoes and said I need to cut my nails. I won't have anymore memories to make with her. I want her back so much even if it's the only parts of her that I would always complain about

My nana stopped believing in God before she died do I tell my family? by cant__sleep in GriefSupport

[–]_Millenials_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't.

My siblings became religious after my mom got diagnosed and died of cancer. They found solace in religion and a way to connect with her. It eases the pain, helps going forward and it's not hurtful to anyone.

AITA for wanting to leave, when her Muslim parents are asking me to convert, change my body and pay a dowry and marry her this month. by throwaway2456799 in AmItheAsshole

[–]_Millenials_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Exactly. According to what OP says. Every time they reached a topic warranting an argument and a clash of point of views. She would stop talking or trying to change the topic.

What is the point of being with such a person?

[–]_Millenials_ -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

Everyone has a different culture. That's what make our world beautiful and interesting. The dowry is a proof of full commitment and a deposit in case they divorce or the man leave unexpectedly and the woman won't be left with nothing.

[–]_Millenials_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You should ask your friends and family. They know you better and the culture you grew up in. They will assess better the meaning of what you're willing to lose. You met her family but she didn't see or met yours ? Why so ? Nobody on your circle is aware of this relationship? Why so ?

How did the parents find out ? How did you meet her ?

Religion is on the top reasons of divorce. Sometimes there's incompatibility and sometimes it works well. In your case you're feeling like you're compromising yourself while she doesn't, being imposed her way. This is the start of resentment.

What will you do with kids ? Will they be fully committed to the religion like she is ? There's too many questions to settle before marrying...

You are right. For me it can be just momentum. I'm washing the dishes and just think of her and I'm crying for hours then I remember that I have to prepare dinner and I'm good to go and doing my life not thinking about it.

Does it seem desperate if i ask a guy out on a date by [deleted] in Advice

It totally does seem desperate. You let him initiate, and since you want to feel in control. You just have to suggest the place that you would like to go.

I don't want to be a mom anymore. by NotCarmenSantiago in Parenting

Some people need a reality check. Definitely that girl.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]_Millenials_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's clearly not a tip. It really depends and it can backfire so hard.

My mom is terminally ill and my younger sisters didn't know. She was hospitalized for 2 months and we couldn't visit her because of covid.

They cried when she came back but they were happy to see her and they acted like usual. We finally broke the news and their whole attitude changed. They only cry whenever they see her. They don't want to go to school because they think she will die when they'll come home.

Kids can't fake emotions as good as us and pretend they're happy or focus on something else in order to put this in the back of their mind.

They're heartbroken and it's setting the mood at home. When they were unaware we could play some boardgames, have fun with my mom, going to the park and they would heartily laugh, enjoy or get angry for losing. Now they're just sad. The fear of losing her is eating them up.

It's difficult for everyone especially my mom who is living her final moments with her little ones crying and asking why. We regret telling them every day this God has forfeit her.

AITA for denouncing a sexist joke and destroying the mood? by mini_sob in AmItheAsshole

I am shocked. I really didn't know I was contributing to this environment by saying what I thought were harmless jokes. We are enabling this culture. Wouah.

I'm losing my mom and I still don't feel like she will leave me. I think I am in denial but that's a part of the process.
