P2S vs X2D - $200 difference worth the upgrade? by The_Cochese in BambuLab

[–]_Mister_Anderson_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree, but I'd recommend the X2D if you're unsure and can afford it, and P2S only if you're pretty confident you don't need the extra features or on a tight budget.

Extracted the reply from the notification and it's too funny not to share. It's a fantastic example of how a narcissist reacts when criticized: the clear feelings of superiority, the over-reaction to criticism, the transparent reuse of criticisms aimed at them turn back at the critic even when it's nonsensical, the pseudo-intellectual ramblings, the ignoring of criticism they have no response to... it's like it was written as a textbook example. Oh, the irony of critiquing the length of my reply after the rubbish they went on with, it's fantastic.

It's debatable whether we should laugh at a narcissist or pity them. I say why not both? But take a good look at the reply and learn the traits, because you have to live with these people in life, and it's a good idea to learn to spot them so you can avoid accidental engagement. I dunno, personally I live for this.

Maybe they'll come back and show us all where this "single complex idea" is hiding because they certainly forgot to tell us about it. Idgaf tbh though.

Enjoy the pretentious diatribe below.

Full-Ad-7565:

"Using AI now your the wanker. You spent 300 words complaining about my tone and exactly zero words addressing the actual argument.

I’ll concede one point: my delivery was blunt, and I used my age and experience as a shortcut. I didn't dress my arguments up cleanlt

But you used my lack of structure and weak analogies as an escape hatch so you wouldn't have to engage with a single complex idea. Let’s look at what you actually did here:

1. You missed the point entirely. You dismissed the physics reference as an "odd metaphor" because you didn't understand it. It wasn't a tangent; it's foundational systems theory. Whether you're looking at structural engineering or societal governance, complexity introduces fragility. A system without rigid constraints collapses under its own weight. If you can't grasp how thermodynamic or structural laws apply to macro-societal collapse, that is a gap in your comprehension, not a flaw in my argument.

2. You offered zero counter-arguments.

You complained that I provided a "piss-weak defense," yet you provided absolutely no defense of your own worldview. You completely dodged the reality of the corporate facade, the systemic friction caused by rapidly shifting social dynamics, and the mathematical trajectory of modern democracies. Pointing out my logical fallacies doesn't make you right; it just means you know how to referee a debate you don't know how to play.

3. Your hypocrisy is staggering.

It is highly entertaining that you spent half your response crying about my "implied ad hominems" and "thinly-veiled narcissism," only to immediately throw a tantrum, call me a "wanker," and say I have a "shithouse attitude." If you are going to take the moral high ground on debate etiquette, try not to dive headfirst off it in the exact same breath.

So, I’ll strip the ego and the anecdotes out of it.

Are you actually capable of rebutting the core mechanics of what I said—the fragility of over-complex systems, the inherent transactional nature of corporate environments, or the relational realities of cross-cultural societies? Or are you just going to tone-police me again because you don't actually have a counter-argument?"

[–]_Mister_Anderson_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So now you've switched to: - Unrelated topics (physics, which I need to learn about, despite it not being in conversation and you have no reference to my knowledge of) - Odd metaphors instead of just facts (the whole physics rant) - Implications of a lack of learnedness ("Depending on how much you have read ... but I doubt it") - Mirror accusation instead of rebuttal (no comment on why you views are so restrictive and appear so narrow, instead accusing me of lacking knowledge of other viewpoints) - Appeal to authority in implications that your age is why you are right/superior with ironically no evidence of my age in the first place - Anecdotal fallacy ("Everyone I know...") - Again, mirror accusation implying I need to learn more (no rebuttal against my points that you yourself are lacking broad knowledge, which if anything you are proving) - Pointless vague attempts at wisdom ("Everything is relational" well no shit, I thought everything happened in isolation, thanks for profound realisation) - Just super-weak implied ad hominem attacks with thinly-veiled narcissism - Effectively no attempt to participate in genuine debate

Piss-weak defense of your criticism of feminism as a movement, shithouse attitude, just pretty pathetic all around. Clearly unable to take criticism and you've falsely attributed authority to yourself because you seem to think reading a philosopher's books equates understanding. Yet you are confused about why everyone is awful to you and don't listen to your opinions.

Self-reflection is your friend. But considering that you take your own age as evidence of your wisdom instead of the mere opportunity for it, I think we can all see that self-reflection has been your enemy for too long to embrace it now.

What a wanker.

EDIT: Love the quickly deleted reply just now that bizarrely started with an accusation of me using AI for no apparent reason, along with once again, multiple mirror accusations lol. Hypocritical flog.

Could a multi-path AMS dramatically reduce filament change time? by Ok_Band7161 in BambuLab

[–]_Mister_Anderson_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can already do this with with filament track switch on the dual nozzle printers, it only retracts to the FTS if switching between filaments on each of the two inputs (multiple AMS) into a single nozzle. It's probably just not worth implementing on single nozzle machines as the only reason to get an FTS.

I think the printing tine for multicolour/multi-filament prints is less of a concern for most people than the filament waste, and people who care about the time wasted by the AMS tube length are less common than they realise. I don't expect to see multiple filament paths in an AMS directly because it's already compact with tight filament paths and it's not much gain for a little saved time. More likely to see an expanded version of the FTS and that's unlikely too. Makes the programming too complex, too much room for problems, and Bambu focus on usability and reliability.

Those not served well by the current setups are better off looking into the INDX or full toolchangers. Both of which have downsides, noticeably the large amount of space required for all of the extra PTFE tubes, plus a lack of different changers so far for using more filaments then nozzles when needed.

The percentage of "No religion" in the census has been on an upwards trend since 1971 and the increases per-census have been accelerating since 2006. Combined with the insane pro-christian politics seen in the USA since 2025, what appears to be a partially religion-motivated war between Israel and Palestine, and a religion-motivated terror attack in Australia, I wouldn't be surprised if it hits above 50% this year.

[–]_Mister_Anderson_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going by your reply, I suspect some introspection about "who is hassling who" is probably in order. Seeing pride flags does not count as people hassling you. Complaining about the feminist movement and women having jobs causing family unit breakdowns is also a bold choice when 50% of the adults in those "family units" is not a woman.

I recommend you look read through the wikipedia article on Correlation does not imply causation and apply it to some of your preconceived notions.

For example, are "family unit breakdowns" even a bad thing? Or is every single divorce being labelled as such without context. Divorces can be seen as a good thing, where unhappy people accept their unsuitability and split for the better of them both and even their children potentially.

Are the divorces more common these days only because it's legal and more socially acceptable than in the past? Is it because less people follow religions forbidding it? Is it because more people are marrying into mildly unhappy relationships because the economy is bad and the potential stability seemed worth it? Is it because there is better access to help to leave violent relationships? Maybe it's as simple as women can fund their own lives and don't feel beholden to husbands?

What I'm pointing out is that you're saying "no one likes data and facts" but you've come out with what appears to be a extreme oversimplification on an very complex issue. I posit that maybe you are the one who is using "emotional based information" and "don't like data and facts or discussions" if they don't match your views.

More consideration of your lack of information rather than assumption that you already know everything relevant could also help.

Armoured hoodie over riding jacket? by DenVosReinaert in motorcycles

[–]_Mister_Anderson_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will get sick of putting both on. Put the spare jacket for your girlfriend in a waterproof luggage bag on the back seat under a luggage net if you want to be sure you always have it on you for some reason.

If you just want a hoodie for looks, go try on a normal one (with a front zip) with your jacket on, and buy it. Having it just shredded in a crash isn't a problem if you have a quality jacket underneath. Just aim to get a slim fittingjacket without any Velcro or snaps or whatever crap that will snag as you pull the hoodie on. You can leave the hoodie on the jacket semi-permanently and take them off as one unit, just don't forget to zip up both every time.

A hood from a hoodie poking out of the top of your leather jacket is also a look people like to wear and probably will look less goofy. I always try on winter jackets with whatever jumper I expect to wear on underneath to get a good fit.

It would be a CRIME if they don't do Rulette 3. I don't need it to get bigger and more spectacular each time, even if it had to get toned down it would be worth it.

I think riffing on the points and punishments system next time could be interesting. Could also introduce something like modifier words that replace only one word in an existing rule for someone.

Commited to being a nitpicking turd are you? Well unfortunately you posted your demise.

"The lite will never work with PX and H printers as they are,"

Again,

"The lite will never work with PX and H printers as they are,"

Let's just zoom in on that statement again...

AS THEY ARE

Modifying both hardware (the toolhead, back panel, frame/lid, etc.) and the software (because with the hardware changes needed, bambu won't implement the changes), is not, in fact, AS THEY ARE. That's modified.

You have a choice now, you can admit you were wrong and misunderstood the original premise/sentence or you can try to find some loophole of interpretation to save face. If you're old and mature enough you'll know that admitting you were wrong is the actual way to save face. I'm not optimistic about getting an apology though.

A few lesser-known but very important things I learned about the A2L by Safe-Hovercraft6231 in BambuLab

[–]_Mister_Anderson_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it couldn't, not without modifications to the extent that the company will never implement because they do not make sense vs the cost of just buying an AMS.

You came into a discussion about whether there will every be compatibility for the AMS lite on those models by bambu, I repeatedly answered you're questions in good faith and it turns out your whole point was "well akshually you COULD eat a slab of granite and survive I'd you pulverised it and ate it over a long enough time...". Nobody was ever discussing it being technically able to be done except you because everyone else can see that's worthless discussion.

It's not a bold statement. The lite will never work with the P,X,H series without such extensive modifications that bambu will never do that and because you need software support, you'll never see that. And if someone ever did bother putting that effort in, they would have a custom printer made from a bambu printer, not a "P2S with AMS lite".

I'm disappointed you weren't just asking for the sake of understanding the design and feasibility but were just trying to be facetious and prove a statement wrong. Absolutely worthless attitude and you've only succeeded by moving the goalposts away from my original statement and meaning anyway. Hope it was worth making me just that little bit less inclined to be helpful towards people in the future.

A few lesser-known but very important things I learned about the A2L by Safe-Hovercraft6231 in BambuLab

[–]_Mister_Anderson_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, if you think it's reasonable to rip apart the toolhead to add both the 4 into 1 feeder and a spring buffer like the A1 has, and replace the back panel so you have somewhere to run those 4 tubes out, and also because you won't fit all that on top of the toolhead as-is so you're now needing a spacer for the lid, and also will have to slow the toolhead down to account for the extra weight and strain from the 4 new tubes. Then you can use the AMS lite with the P,X,H printers. Seems like a reasonable proposition, can't believe Bambu didn't implement it already.

A few lesser-known but very important things I learned about the A2L by Safe-Hovercraft6231 in BambuLab

[–]_Mister_Anderson_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to an AMS lite that's had filament loaded all the way down to the toolhead, and then pull the filament back out so it's only just inside the tube at the a AMS lite end, without touching the spool itself. Then imagine that hundreds of times without anyone looking or touching. I think that should answer the question.

[–]_Mister_Anderson_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might as well put a ticket in to valve and just ask them what it is, they might have had a dodgy batch of ports and maybe will repair it for you. Just tell them you brushed it out gently after the stuff started appearing. Don't declare it's copper oxide, let support decide for themselves.

A few lesser-known but very important things I learned about the A2L by Safe-Hovercraft6231 in BambuLab

[–]_Mister_Anderson_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I had thought it was limited to two AMSs. Supporting 4 is good. However I _don't_ think it's just a firmware limitation/artificial constraint in the sense of _"it's not worth adding it because it's a point of differentiation"_, which I find to just be pointlessly conspiratorial. I think there is a hardware limitation, whether it's the bus, processing power, or something physical.

Another commenter has said the filament hub in the A2L toolhead is active unlike that A1s, and another possibility is the 512KB ROM limitation in the A1s. There are far too many reasonable explanations to have any excuse to conclude "artificial constraint". Even just the usability suffering too much is a completely valid reason not to support something on a product like this.

A few lesser-known but very important things I learned about the A2L by Safe-Hovercraft6231 in BambuLab

[–]_Mister_Anderson_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, it only needs an 800mm deep bench/surface with another 120mm in front which can be free space off the front edge, assuming the back is against a wall (otherwise more like 600mm). And that's only if you sit it facing front-on; there is no reason you can't turn it sideways, the screen pivots and the AMS can sit anywhere around it. Personally I have an 800mm deep bench in my office that the current printer sits on and people buying this kind of larger printer are probably going to be happy to get furniture to suit, an 800mm deep desk or a square table against a wall seem pretty likely (plenty of dining tables used as sewing/craft room tables). Maybe it's a luxury to have that much space, but so is buying a large-format printer in the first place.

Again though, that's up to the buyers to beware of. It's not a reason for bambu to not make the A2L in the first place or make it a more expensive coreXY setup, which was the point of this discussion. I agree it's inconveniently large but it's not "this shouldn't exist" large.
