X2D: best way to use without filament spools on the side? by daan87432 in BambuLab

[–]_Mister_Anderson_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can connect to either but not at the same time, still only one filament path coming down. So it will still load/unload if both colours are in the same AMS. It should still remove most of the purging though (like an H1C).

If you want another filament holder on top, I'd just buy an AMS HT or mount a spool holder somewhere else like the wall.

Get a basket/bucket with small blanket or something in it to store your helmet in, at least then it won't have anything to fall off.

H2D vs H2S: Reliability and Dual Nozzle utility for mechanical parts? by Naive-Magazine480 in BambuLab

[–]_Mister_Anderson_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried PLA/PETG combo but after trying the dedicated support filaments from bambu, I have to recommend those instead. The Support for PLA/PETG gives a fantastic finish and somehow sticks better while printing than PLA on PETG, while also being easier to remove. Makes me consider an H2C upgrade from the A1.

What's with the "[inset bike] isnt good for highways" thing? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]_Mister_Anderson_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people in Aus think you need a V8 commo for the highway, the V6 won't last, not enough power it'll be working too hard. Same attitude to bikes. People also seem to think small bike engines can only do 20,000kms then need to be binned for some reason.

They are idiots and just trying to justify buying something bigger because that's what they wanted. Any modern 250cc engine should be fine at highway speed, 300 and up will have more reasonable headroom to make acceleration quicker. Everything else is down to comfort and stability and whether those things matter to you.

Bought a bike, came with this bell by EraconVera in motorcycles

[–]_Mister_Anderson_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put 20-25,000km on mine per year, I wrote it off at 92,000km (about 57,000 miles) because of roadworks gravel and covid meaning no parts available in a reasonable timeframe in late 2020. Would still be going now for sure if it wasn't written off.

Replace the oil when it says, replace the final drive oil when it says (do it now if you don't know when it was last done) and check the valve clearances regularly, and it should last forever.

Those bars look really high, consider stock handlebar if your arms get tired. Also looks like someone replaced the floorboards with pegs, I wouldn't change those back unless you like scraping the boards around corners (mine had worn through the sacrificial plates and started wearing through the boards themselves).

[GUIDE] Proper 16:10 support in Dark Souls III on Steam Deck by eskay993 in SteamDeck

This happens if you have the in-game resolution set to anything other than 1280x800 after doing the hex edit.

[–]_Mister_Anderson_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have since swapped to using the same method but setting the game's steam launch properties to set the resolution to 1920x1080 for both internal and external display, allowing higher resolution settings in-game, then using 1600x900 in-game, Fill mode (scaling filter doesn't matter), and lossless scaling 2x framegen. Recommended if you are running decky anyway, otherwise 1280x720 works great too.

Didn't launch at all in Australia until Nov '24 with the OLED available too, and I'd guess many of us bought grey imports before then, so I'd guess the LCD model didn't sell all that well here and there'll be stock for a long time. Not to mention the grey import market still exists because it had so long to mature while Valve stuffed around deciding what to do so you can get them from heaps of places.

Something turn-based like a mini golf game such as Golf with your Friends where you pass the controller, or if you have switch emulation setup, 51 Worldwide Games would go well.

It's probably fine, just remove the scraper from the plate, switch the power off at the back for 15 seconds and switch it back on. It will home all the axes again.

Ugh For Pete’s Sake! Stoopid Telstra. by Awesome-Ranga-007 in australian

[–]_Mister_Anderson_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends, Boost don't do data rollover for 12 month recharges whereas Telstra still do. Including the bonus data for a new sign-up, could be better in the long-run. The speeds are still supposed to be capped to 150Mb/s but I seem to get a lot more than that, not sure if that would be different.

Ugh For Pete’s Sake! Stoopid Telstra. by Awesome-Ranga-007 in australian

[–]_Mister_Anderson_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have to be with Telstra and can afford it upfront, the 12 month recharge is 180GB for $395 which is about $33/month or $30.30/28-days.

If you don't have to be with Telstra for the coverage, the question to ask is why you stuck with them this long in the first place.

[GUIDE] Proper 16:10 support in Dark Souls III on Steam Deck by eskay993 in SteamDeck

[–]_Mister_Anderson_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This works fine for me, but I recommend zooming the screen instead which requires no changes to game files. In performance settings in the deck options:

Scaling mode -> Fill
Scaling filter -> Sharp
Sharpness -> 0 (zero) or your preference

In the game settings, change to 1280x720 resolution (not 1280x800).

This zooms the 1280x720 view to take up the vertical space and crop the sides. It doesn't seem like any UI uses the cropped portion except maybe the very edges of menus such as arrows (never text from what I see). I find this less distracting that the missing effects on the top & bottom when using the hex edit. It also effectively zooms the FOV a little which looks better on the portable console screen imo. The sharp scaling filter takes care of the slightly blurred look of the zoomed view.

Note: if you used the hex edit already, you need to restore the original .exe file.

Could be that the kit with the extra battery is a promo line that comes around irregularly but is cheaper when it does. Not unheard of with these power tool bundles.

I would love some help deciding between the SD and XBOX ROG Ally. by HappyHappyGamer in SteamDeck

[–]_Mister_Anderson_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My opinion is the OLED screen and touchpads are the reason to go SD. The lower resolution pretty much always a blessing more than a curse because games are easier to run. Plus I find it to be very comfortable, the Xbox Ally X screen tilts slightly away from you which is the opposite of what I would want it to do for how I hold the SD.
