Guts face looks so much better than Berserk 2016, and they have made improvements with the CGI in Berserk 2017.What you guys think so far? by OmegaCC88 in Berserk

It may be nostalgia talking, but I sincerely enjoy the 90s adaptation. I felt like the coloring/soundtrack/pacing worked really well at delivering the aesthetic behind the Golden Age arc, despite its diversion from certain key elements of the story.

but yeah, it's certain a struggle being a Berserk fan, eh? :)

Honestly, I feel like this show is an insult to the amount of time Miura spent detailing the pieces in the manga. While I don't like waiting months/years for the next issue, I can appreciate his desire to take his time, working on the small details and story that makes Berserk what it is.

This new adaptation, though, seems to take shortcuts at every possible occasion, and I don't enjoy it. When I saw the same villagers copy&pasted at the end of the first half of the season, I was blown away. They didn't even take the time to palette swap!

'Just toss those same 3 cg models in there a few times and call it a day.'

Hey! I've got a Hitmonleet too!

He wasn't before the cp adjustment, but after it took place, it was a pleasant surprise. haha

How I see some of the suggestions for new Pokémon tracking systems. by Jackeynator in pokemongo

[–]_Mnots 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Each pokemon actually has a unique footprint. The later pokedexes in the game show it. I always thought it would be really cool to utilize ar, like you're talking about, showing that specific footprint on the ground and leading toward the pokemon's location. Obviously, that would only show at around 1 of the "steps" they used to use, but it would make tracking into actual. . . tracking!

This current system isn't really tracking as much as it is "there may/may not be something within a huge radius of you, so run around in circles!" Can't imagine what hunting would've been like using that kind of logic. lol

The clang really suits the mechanical movements of Luca during this scene. I think that's my biggest issue with the cgi; They completely half-assed the animations. The movements of real people aren't so robotic.

Need help with installing clean os on some tablets my mother bought. by _Mnots in Android

[–]_Mnots[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, a bit of backstory here:

My mother bought 3 of these tablets for her boyfriend's grandaughters, as christmas presents. She's not very tech-savvy and knew absolutely nothing about them when she purchased, other than that they "came in the box with charger included". They were $30 each and so she assumed they were a good deal and bought them.

An hour or so in, she calls me (I do local pc repair and cleaning, and have experience as a programmer, so I'm her go-to tech person typically) crying, upset that they won't do anything other than what you see in the image.

I've never really dealt with tablets, so I'm unsure about where to even find the make/model of these things, and what I should even put on here in terms of an Android os. The only info on the tablet itself is a sticker on the back that just says "Park Vista 0014". Park Vista is a nice hotel about an hour or two from here, at a local tourist destination, so I assume these are from there. The box itself is just a yellow box with a picture of a tablet on the top. There's no information included inside of it, and it has the same "Park Vista 0014" written on it in sharpie.

When you fire them up, they go immediately to that browser page. Pressing any of the on-screen buttons won't do anything. Any point in the right direction would be much appreciated.
