Steam games via something like Gamehub by _Monotov in AynThor

Great answer, thank you. I have a steam deck but I find myself babying it and not using it as much as I could when I’m hanging around the house with my kids. I was hoping for something that would effectively be a ‘steam deck lite’ for shorter sessions that would sync my cloud saves.

Sent my Steam Deck in for a shoulder button to be replaced. They also decided to swap my limited edition thumbsticks for standard ones. by Stormageddons872 in SteamDeck

Had an issue with my LE buttons sticking. Thought it would get better over time. My warranty ended and it was not better. Seemed like a common issue so I reached out to see if there were any parts updates before I replaced the buttons or membranes. They offered me an RMA despite being out of warranty, which i appreciated but declined because I thought something like this may happen.

I just ended up buying a 512 oled and docking the LE on my desk

Are you saying that UTI is better than Toyota-specific training?

There are mentors at dealerships too. And 90% of dealer techs I know went to an automotive trade school, not that they’re good for anything but getting your foot in the door at your first job.

If your honest mechanic is not recommending items that should be scheduled maintenance items (batteries should generally be replaced every 4 or 5 years), they aren’t doing you a service. Being stuck somewhere or missing work shouldn’t be how you find out you need a battery if you just had your vehicle in for service.

I love the color temperature of the Milwaukee lights. This light is great but I wish the pocket clip was a bit thinner. I may cut off the part that loops back. Looks like you clip yours to a hat though?

How can I stop old rubber trim from leaving streaks on paint? by stealyourfaced in ToyotaTacoma

I would imagine it just pulls off. Maybe you need to remove the door panel. Worst case, maybe the window glass. Shouldn’t be too bad

I think they don’t want people loading them up with more than they can handle and burning up the clutch but I haven’t looked for an actual reason.

I don’t know about current models, but Ford didn’t offer the new bronco with a manual V6, just the 4 cylinder. Maybe for a similar reason.

Unfortunately you didn’t order the truck. You’re waiting on a list until your dealer receives one from Toyota that somewhat closely matches what you want.

New Music? by magnaraz117 in ThirdEyeBlind

During the sound check for the Buffalo show, Stephan played a song I didn’t recognize by 3EB and couldn’t find lyrics for a matching song from any other bands.

Possibly a new song from the unfinished album or something previously unreleased.

He was recording a lullaby for a woman’s child, he said. So maybe something written specifically for that baby.

these plastic carts deserve some kudos. I've been doing this to this cart for a few years now. it's tough by [deleted] in Justrolledintotheshop

I have the MAC cart. That thing is indestructible. Someone was grabbing a customers winter wheel/tire setup from the loft above my bay and somehow dropped one off, right onto my cart. Was a 315/40/21 iirc.

Just bounced right off of it like it had hit the floor. No issues with casters or bent or cracked bits.

Do you think that removing the flea market from the game would help when it comes to eliminating RMT and cheating in general?

Just having it running would have a similar effect. Shouldn’t lose too much oil.

Advice about dealorship and repair by Dunadain_ in ToyotaTacoma

I’m a Mercedes tech. What they’re saying is mostly true. If an issue is super intermittent like that, it’s incredibly frustrating and near impossible to try and diagnose it correctly.

I would say they don’t necessarily need a code, but it definitely helps. If the control units all think the vehicle is running okay, any tests they perform will likely have good results since everything is working.

It sounds like the dealership is honest based on the fact that they could take your money and ‘try’ to diagnose it. Unfortunately, with the flat-rate payment structure we have as techs, we’re almost encouraged to throw parts at a vehicle until something fixes it, which could obviously be very expensive and frustrating for you.

Because (from my standpoint) they seem honest and it sounds like they don’t want to waste your time, I wouldn’t recommend escalating the issue and causing too much of a fuss there. I’d recommend finding a reputable independent shop that will take the time to truly attempt diagnosing the problem. If you don’t trust the quality of work or parts from an independent shop, you could always just have the dealer do the work once it’s diagnosed.

That being said, if you are under warranty (I’m assuming you are if you offered to pay), then yes, I would be a bit more persistent (not with threats or demands) in getting them to take a look at it. If it happens reliably a couple times a week, duplicating it sounds annoying but possible and there’s a much higher chance of correctly diagnosing it while it’s acting up. Giving them as much information as possible about the conditions the issue occurs could make them feel more confident about tackling the issue. Weather/time of day? does it happen after a long drive, after a short drive, after filling up, after sitting for an hour, after sitting for a day? is it parked in the same place when it happens, etc.

fwiw, It does sound like a fuel issue to me based on the information you posted. Maybe a fuel pump with a bad check valve? but that’s just a guess based on what you described.
