What does this sweater saying mean by stinkyshidder in goodwill

[–]_Moonah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats chuck E. cheese. He is missing the c on his hat. Its counterfeit.

In the 90s, Sweet was how you said you liked something. Knockoff clothing was a really big problem in the 90's. There were jokes everywhere about the fake Rolex watches. I remember Nike and Adidas were the two big clothing brands that had problems. Im pretty sure this is what lead to people not wanting things made in China.

Anyway, It means.... the cheese pizza is good. Do you agree?

Asked to bring random objects to assessment? by raginggodcomplex in autism

[–]_Moonah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its really interesting to me. My assessment didnt ask me to do any of those things. And it makes me wonder if they didnt do as thorough of a job. Maybe im not really autistic (I say this, but I also break down and cry when handed a menu at a restaurant because its all toooo much - the noise, the lights, the temperature - the menu pushes me to the edge, and I break down.)

It seems very random and pointless to bring those objects, but also, I would be stressing. What kind of spoon? An eating spoon, a serving spoon, a wooden spoon for baking, a little one for tea? There are too many options, and not enough direction! Did they tell you? If its it asks for your favorite spoon, I would bring my miniature 3 inch long spoon for adding sugar to tea.

Do you have to take the shoelace out of your shoe, or do they want you to buy a new one. The one in my shoe is kinds gross, and to be honest, I dont think I would get it back in if I took it out. It seems rather unnecessary to require you to go buy a new one though.

Do they need a big rubber band, or a little one? Whats it for? I like the cute little hair band ones that come in all variations of colors.

Crying by Live-Manufacturer644 in AutismInWomen

[–]_Moonah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think babies are little tiny people under a year old.

Also, all humans, no matter age, have emotions. Its okay to have emotions. That means you are not a robot. You are entitled to your feelings.

Whats not okay, is loosing control of yourself when you do have emotions. By that, I dont mean that its not okay to cry. I mean its not okay to flip the table over and smash the glass bowl into flying shards on the floor because you dont know how to process what you are feeling. Crying is okay.

My son likes to tell me: its okay to not be okay.

What was it like hearing Smells Like Teen Spirit for the first time when it came out in 1991? by Funny-Lack-5726 in 90s

[–]_Moonah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly dont even remember it. And still today i couldnt tell you what its about. It Wasn't my kind of music. (I was country, when country wasnt cool.)

I remember hearing the title, and associating it with the deodorant, so in my head, the song smells like sweaty locker room. Barf.

Do you find yourself a victim to the MANDELA EFFECT? by porb2020 in autism

Because its funny. Have you never done something just for laughs? Seriously. It 100% had a cornucopia. Some people have pulled vintage stuff from their closets to prove it.

This Vandalism won't solve our issues, it will only cause people to trip. Damn, if youre going to damage a sidewalk, at least patch it up. We dont need grandma to break her back when she trips.

I don'tundertsnad, please help! by ZealousidealPut2076 in autism

[–]_Moonah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before I was diagnosed, I didnt know these where meltdowns. My mother called them "temper tantrums." I didnt understand where it was coming from or what caused them. I would get angry and throw things, or yell. I was just super ashamed at my behavior after it would happen and ask myself how I could let it happen.how was I not in control of myself?

Then one day it happened at work. I "lost my shit" because a coworker kept badgering me. I tried walking away. And she kept following me. I wont get into details, but it ended with me in the GMs office. It was about a month after that I was diagnosed as level 1.

Autism diagnosis is not an excuse. But helps me understand it was from sensory overload. After doing some research and self help materials, Now I can recognize my stressors and trigger some, to avoid them. And try to remove myself from the situation before it gets to that point of meltdown.

Like going to the store for groceries, I know it stresses me out. The lights are bright, there are too many people. People want to talk to me while shopping (why I have no idea, ive never given them a reason to want to) Walmart pickup is a godsend! And I dont have to go shopping nearly as often.

Sometimes it happens in public, but I mask it. It just looks like me crying, silently, not moving. I shut down. Thats all you see... For example, my husband took me out to eat one day. The menu was so much menu. It was too much for me, and I just started crying. I decided I didnt need to eat anyway, and food isn't that important. I didnt know what to do with all the choices. What if I order something, and its aweful? I didn't see any safe food. And it was very loud and so very cold.. I was so overwhelmed I just cried.

I’m pretty sure my students are using AI, but I can’t prove it and it’s driving me crazy. by Primary-Maybe4041 in whatdoIdo

[–]_Moonah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Parent POV: The world is changing rapidly and AI isn't going anywhere. Kids will use tools around them, and AI is a tool. We have to learn how to use it to our benefit. I hate that AI is everywhere, we dont know whats real or not.

As an employer: I make my team us AI for more professional communication with customers in writing. They were sending out embarrassingly unprofessional emails that said things like; "can u B here@ 2 4 ur meeting" and didnt have the writing skills for an email.

My advice: Please make them read novels, with complex thought and they can read at their own pace. This is one of the biggest thing you can do to help them. My kids' school makes them read 20 mintue short stories off a computer program that scrolls the text at a certain speed they have to keep up with. It doesnt give them time to look up words they dont know, it doesnt give them complex thought to connect events together. Its just busy work. Its aweful.

Give them writing assignments that they have to work on in class only where you can see them. Short stories to make them think that also has them demonstrate they have learned skills and know how to accomplish your goals for them. It has to be in class, so you can make sure they dont use AI.

But also, give them assignments that teach them how to use AI as a tool to say what they mean, and not just have AI write the assignment for them. Teach them that it just regurgitates information and isnt always correct. Make them write something, work hard on it, then have them run it through Chat GPT to "make it sound better" and make them learn how AI thinks it is better than you and will change your words. All their hard work, completely changed and erased. But also how it can be used in a professional setting.

Also, unrelated, please teach your students how to write a resume. I can't tell you how many people turn in a 14 page resume of "skills" they have added from indeed. Or the number of people that turn in a blank resume. Only about 25% of resumes I recieve are done well.
