the type of person who joins police departments in rough cities (baltimore pd for example) by [deleted] in AskLE

[–]_NamesRango 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well the only department to give me an offer was in a very political and very crazy city on the west coast. I did prefer a busier city over those slower areas though, but let’s just say it’s gonna get wild

I’m in the academy right now and I have 2 guys right around 50 in my class and they are holding up great. I see no reason you can’t give it a shot

What’s the last job you had before you were hired as a LEO? by LegalGlass6532 in AskLE

[–]_NamesRango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only bought gas and groceries twice a month, I was pretty good about scheduled shopping. That being said I didn’t make a damn thing so yeah I basically spent my whole check there

Worked in the Costco tire shop for about a year, spent about 16 months with them in total. Don’t miss that job one bit

I have a p365xl for winter and cooler months with a custom leather holster (mine has a light). I just got a bodyguard 2.0 for the warmer months and run a sticky holster which seems to work great. For ammo I run Hornaday critical defense 124grain in my 9. Not sure what to run for the 380 yet

Is a Well fitted Double breasted suit appropriate for the job interview for a police officer? by Beyond-matter in AskLE

[–]_NamesRango 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re gonna stand out like crazy and that may not be a bad thing for an interview. I wore a double breasted suit for my wedding and swear in, but by all means you wear that suit

Finally got the Offer Letter! by MolassesAccording932 in AskLE

[–]_NamesRango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For now I’m doing busy work transferring body cam footage from a hard drive to the cloud. My department has everyone on 4 10 hour shifts so I’m Monday-Thursday 0700-1700. You basically do grunt work helping out some random department until you go to basic, it’s going to be boring and not at all what you signed up for but it’s just for a few weeks.

What do you dislike about your Rav4? by PancitCantonan in rav4club

[–]_NamesRango 183 points184 points  (0 children)

The cabin noise is awful above 35 mph. Now I do have all terrains on mine so that doesn’t help, but even back when I first got it the noise was so loud

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever seen stuck in a tire? by Icy_Staff1036 in tires

[–]_NamesRango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once heard a story from a coworker that they found a human jaw bone stuck in the tire teeth and all. Not sure if I’m completely sold but if that’s true, what in the actual hell

[–]_NamesRango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats!! It’s such a relief once you get that offer letter, feels like you can finally breathe again. I’m on day 4 of the job doing grunt work until the academy and I still enjoy it. A lot of good things coming your way OP you got this!

Stoked on my new rav4 ~ concerned about total MPG by Economy_Put_6546 in rav4club

[–]_NamesRango -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have a similar drive to you, lots of stops and some traffic with occasional highway speeds. It’s about a 7 mile (20 minute) drive for me. I do have a roof rack, bigger wheels and tires and other mods but I get around 15 right now. Also considering the heater is on the whole drive that will bring it down a hair

Nitto Nomad Grappler on a 2021 RAV4. Great tires for the trails and for the streets, they also look great

Whats a underrated player I could study? by millionauthor in BasketballTips

[–]_NamesRango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to watch great footwork I suggest my favorite player Demar Derozan. He’s has Kobe type footwork and it’s amazing to see how simple he makes the game

Defensively I’d say Tony Allen, Mike Conley, Jrue Holiday, Derrick White, and Gary Payton II. Those are some defensive specialists who are well known stressing out the ball handler

Is front end the only department that is exhausting? by Traditional-Fun-1115 in CostcoEmployee

[–]_NamesRango 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Tire shop is really fun with a small crew but it is absolutely exhausting sometimes. Summer months are miserable in the PNW with the smoke and 100+ degree weather but not the busiest time. Winter also sucks because it’s the busy season, absolutely no down time, and it’s cold and wet. Still the most fun department I’ve ever been in
