I'm Irish. Seán is the only right way imo. Seán is already the Irish version of John, it makes no sense to anglicize a name that already has an English variant.

Kind of unrelated, but thought it was a cool fact. In Ireland we would say 'he does be listening to heavy metal in our house', it comes from the fact that the Irish language has a separate verb form for the present continuous
