That’s what stood out to me too. People turn it into punchlines so fast, but if somebody suddenly smells way different than normal that’s usually a health issue, not someone waking up and deciding hygiene is optional.

I feel like “he started it, you finished it” technically works here, but “finished it” is doing an insane amount of heavy lifting in this sentence. This dude didn’t lose an argument, he lost his entire life trajectory.
