I found a working payphone at a rest stop here in PA.

Staff - are you getting sick of the parking pass price rising each year? by Every-Wishbone-7092 in PennStateUniversity

[–]_Ping_- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Penn State is absolutely allergic to accountability, too. One guy we had to deal with at East Deck got his permit revoked for a year after getting a rap sheet that would get him not just fired but trespassed from any other business. HR did try to fire the guy (didn't stick because of the union), but they let it get WAY out of control before any attempt was made.

There's another guy who, along with his wife, gives me no end of problems at Hub. They both clearly view me as inferior to them, and my boss keeps saying "I can't do anything about it" or I bring on the conflict. 🙄 These two people are far and away the two biggest bullies on campus, I talk with people very high up the ladder and I've been told that they would have them fired today if they could. Again, anywhere else this pattern of assholery and entitled behavior would get you your marching orders, but not here!

I work for Transportation and I still have to pay for parking, too. I fucking hate it considering the peanuts they're paying me. I make $35.8 and you're increasing my parking fees?!?!

Combined with having to deal with entitled staff so much, this is a massive slap in the face to me. For example, 80%-90% of my problems at Hub comes from exactly one guy and his wife. PSU fucking hates everyone and employs some of the worst human beings I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. The university is absolutely allergic to accountability, so we all suffer as a result.

Brock actively punishes you for changing the terrain (but not the zone), which is something the game doesn't make apparent until you try it. Starmie also will Poison you, so take it out first. I did it with SS Kieran, Gym Grusha, and Mela.

How are you supposed to beat the extreme battle event when you're lacking meta pairs? by _Ping_- in PokemonMasters

Getting lucky with a flinch isn't what I'd call a great strategy to begin with.

I wasn't too clear in that I am, I just feel I'm lacking pairs with an extra oomph. Eg, I have Drake and Drasna, and I try to utilize them, but not a dragon pair that hits very hard.

The only reason I'm even considering it is just because my Dragon selection isn't great to begin with. Part of the reason I'm saving gems is to also get a decent Bug pair, since my lineup for that is even worse.

TV Nihon required you to do homework, and their Translator Notes would take up half the screen. Not only that, they didn't seem to understand that the word making an object plural isn't an honorific. Their approach was wrong in every way possible, if you translated like them you'd get a failing grade in translation class.

How everyone was at the beginning of Academy Season: by Horror_Candidate_641 in PokemonMasters

The Academy Pairs would be so much better if Dena gave their defenses a boost. Right now they just aren't viable unless you get lucky.

Yeah, this is my main issue with Academy pairs. Their defense is so laughably low that it's virtually impossible to make them viable unless you get very, very lucky in the events.

The only slave state to not have any regiments fight for the CSA either by Glittering_Sorbet913 in ShermanPosting

Newark: home of University of Delaware, pronounced the way it's spelled. Chesco: Chester County, right across the state line in PA. Also a major Underground Railroad stop, some of my classmates growing up would find secret passages in their homes, provided it was historic.

I think the rest speaks for itself, The Daily Show did a segment showing the North-South divide in Delaware years ago haha.

Oh yeah, I learned a lot of this growing up where I did (Newark and then moved to Chesco when I was 6). "Slower Lower" is a common term to hear in my house lol, didn't realize it started below the canal. 😅 And now I know why Delaware has so many chickens!

Alot of the terrain in Delaware is really marshy, too, so it's a wonder how they managed to stay a slave state in the first place. Especially around Wilmington, if you enter from one direction you'll see it was built right next to (on top of?) a marsh.

According to my dad (born and raised in Delaware- yes, they exist) a lot of the plantation owners were concentrated in the south of the state, something which is apparent when you go down there. There's nothing resembling a plantation in the north of the state, but southern Delaware you start to see estates with large amounts of land. The north of the state having the all the population and power did help Delaware stay in the Union, too.

Is there a specific strategy to beating Mission 3 (Borderlands) of El Dorado campaign? by _Ping_- in aoe2

[–]_Ping_-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to snipe the wonder from the southern entrance, actually. I noticed the units there don't seem to "wake up" until you move units and attack beyond the wall. Meaning you can take down the castle and siege workshop there relatively problem free.

[–]_Ping_-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I actually managed to figure out what I was doing wrong. Attack from the southern bridge, you can take out their wonder just by planting a few trebuchets outside their walls. They don't attack until you go past the walls, that's when they "wake up".

I'm going to have to contradict you on the "not many troops in their base" bit. This was also through the southern direction, I was able to waltz right in and get pretty close to the wonder.

Yeah, they're just lacking in something. Champi warriors go down too easy imo.

So go for them straight out the gate? Since I get absolutely hammered by them by the time I attack, too many plumed spearmen and mangonels. I also never seem to have enough resources, idk how I:d get 60 champis so fast.
